It usually takes me about an hour to cut it into small rectangular pieces You can use these to apply to the wounds (at least 2" by 1"). I can do that with any reasonably sharp scissors I have, since I usually cut those pieces out of the 4"x4" patch. As well as applying saline solution to the material, I usually apply a little to the wound before applying it. A thin layer of moisture but not so much that the patch becomes soaked. We have been advised to do this by the nurses at the wound clinic we have visited.
