It's difficult to get rid of them. You'll almost certainly require adhesive removal. If you rip them off by themselves, the child's face will be injured.

By far the most effective method of keeping oxygen cannulas on faces is to use these. Similar dots were present on my baby in the NICU, but they were not breathable. Her skin is extremely sensitive. These may be provided by your oxygen provider, but I purchased them for her while she was still in the hospital. The only drawback is that the material is extremely absorbent, so milk would leak onto her cheeks and soak into the dot when she was learning to eat. It is not the fault of the product.
You can wear them for several days at a time, and I didn't experience any irritation because I don't have sensitive skin. They kept the cannula in place, just like they said they would. They are a bit of a pain (2-). 3 on the pain scale), particularly if it is placed near the eyes. If you're having trouble keeping your Canula in place while sleeping, this is the product for you.
My young son's nasal oxygen cannulas are held in place by Salter Labs Tender Grips. He's allergic to the adhesives that come with other types of security devices. Tender Grips, I'm not sure what I'd do if I didn't have you! Thank you, Salter Labs, for making such a dependable product! I'll keep buying these as long as my son needs oxygen. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
It is simple to use. I bought these for my mother, who had been sleeping with her nasal cannula removed. These have prevented her from removing her oxygen, allowing me to sleep soundly at night. When changing them, I would strongly advise using tac away wipes because they will come off easily and without causing any pain when pulled.
They're fantastic; they work wonders and help to maintain skin integrity. I've got these on my baby, and the hold is incredible unless you wet them, in which case they'll come off.
One batch is excellent and sticks well, while the other is terrible and will not stick at all.
