Questions & Answers
Hello, the connector is tapered and has barbs on both ends to keep it in place. It sounds like you're not pushing it up on there far enough; it takes a little muscle, but it should be even more difficult to remove if attached properly. Thanks!
I always cut the supply line at the lowest point where it lays on the floor and insert the water trap in the cut ends and use it as a connector, so this connector would connect the end of the cannula to the supply line. Water and condensation will be directed to the trap in this manner. If you have any additional questions, please let me know! Thanks
Each swivel connector comes in a pack of one. Thanks
I believe I've seen short lengths of tubing with male and female ends on one end.
Selected User Reviews For Oxygen Tubing Swivel Connector, Swivel Connector 1220, 1 pack
I noticed my mother's oxygen tubing was kinking and winding around itself while I was visiting her recently, reducing the amount of oxygen she was receiving. It reminded me of those old phone cords that get so tangled that the length eventually disappears. br>br>I researched this product right away and bought it that same day. It arrived two days later, as promised, which was critical given that I was only there for five days and live a 10-hour drive away. Despite my mother's concerns that I was "tampering with her oxygen," replacing the straight connector with this swivel one was a breeze. br>br>I was a little worried because some reviews said the swivel could reduce oxygen flow slightly, so I kept checking her oxygen level with a device I got through Amazon Prime, and her oxygen level stayed stable throughout my visit, with no kinked tubing. br>br>That was about it. It had been two weeks. Last night, she called to express her gratitude for the swivel connector. The stress and inconvenience she had previously experienced have been greatly reduced as a result of such a small and inexpensive item. I only wish I had been aware of the issue and this product sooner. I'll definitely buy more of these for her to keep on hand. br>br>*One thing to keep in mind is that my mother would not have been able to switch the connectors on her own. They must obviously fit snugly inside the tubing's ends, so connecting them completely requires a little, but not excessive, strength. These are something I would strongly suggest.
Rather, if both ends of tubing are grasped and the hose ends at the fitting counter-clockwise, they will easily turn. the fingers were rotated They will help untangle long runs, but only under the influence of the hose itself - Instead, the swivel's two ends must be rotated between fingers. As a result, I placed them within 3 feet of the cannulae to ensure easy access in the event of kinking or distortion of the nostril fit. I bought more so that I could quickly remove kinks and snarls from longer tubing runs, as well as to add one to my portable O2 concentrator cannula. It's worth noting that the tubing ends had to be softened in VERY hot water before they could be slipped over the connectors' retention ribs. I have no reservations in recommending them.
To reach certain areas of their homes, most have extremely long oxygen tubing. All of the tubing I've seen in packages is tightly wound. It tangles extremely easily when unwrapped and extended. It's also extremely difficult to undo loops for laying down tubing when the person is close to their oxygen source. This swivel connector allows the tubing to be twisted to roll up or lay flat without obstructing the person's life-saving oxygen supply.
That's exactly what Apria gave me to get started. Then I got a bunch of straight connectors and discovered that my hose was getting all coiled up because I'm always turning around to the left; these swivels let the coils escape. My O2 concentrator has 130 feet of hose and each connection has a swivel. It really aids in keeping the hose from becoming tangled.
Because I use oxygen and walk around the house, the hoses naturally become tangled and twist. This device aids in the management of kinks rather than removing them completely. They don't twist as easily when they're new, but they do after a while. The only reason I didn't give them a 5-star rating was because of this. A rating of one to five stars They are excellent value for money.
Swivels well; There does not appear to be any oxygen leakage; The ferral inserts' barbs aren't big enough. br>The barbs, feral part, or both are a little small. The diameter should be slightly increased so that they do not easily pull out of the oxygen tubes. They will pull out of the hose as I pull it across the floor. I have purchased five so far, and while they work, they leave a lot to be desired. Ron.
Because of the design (which allows it to be made for a low price), it severely restricts airflow. The consumer retail markup, I'm guessing, is astronomical. watering. br>br>There is an o-ring to stop excessive leakage. Unfortunately, the rubber o-ring has a high coefficient of friction, which makes it difficult to remove it. The presence of a ring indicates that this "swivel" assembly is unlikely to swivel without user intervention, defeating the purpose of having a swivel adapter. br>br>In conclusion, don't hold your breath for this one.
