An owl of that size wouldn't be able to live in it. An owl of that size would be more like one of those.
Why not, I don't see a problem with that. In fact, the mounting hardware consists of two screws, one in the top and one in the bottom, so wood screws into a 4x4 would work just fine. To mount a 2" pipe, you could drill a hole through and use machine screws, or you could use u-bolts to attach a wood 2x4 to the pipe The owl house is mounted to the 2x4 using bolts and screws. Using a bat house, I successfully ended up not drilling the pipe w/o having to bury it in the ground.
Yes, I agree! My son has barred owls on his property, so I bought this for him!

It's only been a week since my Owl moved in to the box, and I already have an Owl in it. This box is very well made, built from solid wood, and it looks wonderful Box originally shipped to me was damaged, so I'm replacing it. The company responded to my email in less than a day and I had a brand new box within two days. I love this small business. It's doing its thing right, offering excellent products and service to its customers!.
In fact, this own had been living under the overhang on my back porch for some time. Since he did not appear comfortable, I decided to look for a house nearby. Since I posted it, I have not seen him for a few weeks. This morning, he came over to our apartment. This purchase could not have been more perfect for me.
The owl is waiting for installation, now we're waiting for your arrival *-)*-*-*- I installed it in June and it's.
The owl house is so easy to install and of great quality. After seeing the attention to detail on this model, I'm glad we purchased it. Originally, I planned to make one for myself, but after looking at it, I'm glad we bought it. Our goal is to raise it 18 feet above ground level so that the Barred Owls that hangout in our front yard (*20 feet up) will be able to explore. We are looking for candidates!.
As long as you have a ladder, you are able to mount the Kingwood Owl House in a tree. It's very well built of cedar, which will withstand the elements for a long time. There are about 15 feet between mine and the ground. Instead of the two screws provided, I used two stainless lag bolts with a diameter of 4 inches Even though I am sure the two screws would have likely worked, it seems like they weren't enough. I just enlarged the existing holes to accommodate the lag bolts in the holes pre-drilled for the screws and lag bolts. Doable in a few easy steps. made a broom handle perch for the front of the cage, which I attached to the front with 3 screws If you prefer not to do this, you can. As a deterrent to predators, I also nailed some flashing around the trunk of the tree The area is populated by a lot of racoons. Make sure you mount your birdhouse facing south so that you can keep the wind from blowing into it. The owl house must be available to accommodate them if they are to nest there. It is probable that some of the barred owls will nest at this house since we have plenty of them in the area.
A tree could be easily installed - the kit comes with everything you need. There are no issues with leveling my tree because it's a large, relatively straight one. My first test of the trap door below the owl house was to remove the old litter at its bottom. The dowel is easily inserted and secured with the aid of I was not sent a family of cute owls to fill the box, and they didn't respond to my request -- Maybe I will just be able to attract a few!.
He currently has it up in his tree but there have been no Owls to date. There have only been a few weeks since the last update. In his opinion, it was very well made and he is very pleased I appreciate your kind words!.
A piece of the roof came off during shipping, but it was easily reinstalled by gluing and tacking. A clever method of cleaning out the bottom of the house is used in the construction, although the build itself is nothing fancy. The owl house is not easy to hold when you're up a ladder, and it needs two people to install it on a tree, as nature isn't level or square. For the tree trunk to correct for the slight tilt, we added a shim, which was not difficult. To start with, the new wood of the owl house stands out against the tree.
