Questions & Answers
Yes, it's a little oily, but add some vinegar or lemon juice, a few capers, some cheese, and some Italian bread and you've got yourself a real treat! Bread should be dipped in oil.
There is no cheese or dairy in this recipe. Sweet peppers, artichokes, olives, mushrooms, onions, and capers are mixed with olive oil and special spices to make this product.
No, it's not olive oil; it's only sunflower oil.
The jar only stated that it was an Italian product. Botticelli foods, llc is the importer.

It's great in pasta, with a plate of cheese and crackers, on toasted ciabatta bread, and so on; it's the best Antipasto I've found that has all of the ingredients I'm looking for.
So I bought it and my mouth was watering when I received itbr>so I tasted everything inside the Jarbr>and it all tasted the same. br>so when purchasing this item I had to buy two, you couldn't buy one because the product was only sold in twosbr>so I bought it and my mouth was watering when I received itbr>so I bought it and my mouth was watering when I received itbr>so I bought it and my br>Whatever process this company used to make this product removed all of the flavor. br>None of the ingredients had their original taste. br>the artichoke had no taste, the peppers had no taste, the pearl onions had no taste, the pickles had no taste,br>this company really messed up that product. br>I threw it away. br>However, the olive oil in this product is excellent. I saved it and used it to make a salad dressing.
Update: br>I placed a large order because I was so excited to discover this product on Amazon and use it in my Insalata di Riso. It had to be thrown away because the vacuum seal had been broken without knowing when it happened. After reading this review, Botticelli Foods promptly sent me another set of two jars to replace the broken one I had received. All of this happened within days of the original purchase, and it came with a very nice letter of apology. Botticelli Foods and doing business with them are two things I would strongly recommend. It's not every day that a business places such a premium on customer service and reputation. br>In terms of other reviews, it clearly states that the oil is sunflower oil, not olive oil. In fact, I use sunflower oil to preserve garden vegetables the Italian way, which involves boiling them in vinegar and water and then storing them in oil (along with garlic cloves, of course). They have flavor, but it's more of a pickled flavor. They're delicious in the summer, and as I mentioned, I used them in my Italian rice salad recipe. They'd also go well with a cheese board and wine. br>br>I received my order in a timely manner. The only problem was that the oil had leaked into all of the boxes. (I received a total of 6 boxes of 2) Except for one, all of the jars were tightly shut. One of the jars was not properly sealed, and oil was visible on the outside. These were not inexpensive, but when I attempted to return one of them, I discovered that the item was not returnable and that there was no other way to contact the seller. I'm frustrated because I can't seem to get a satisfactory response from the seller.
There were very few sweet peppers and olives, and the majority of the artichokes, mushrooms, onions, and capers were flavorless and very oily. br>I was extremely disappointed.
Colors and textures in a wide range of hues: red and yellow sweet peppers, pitted green and black olives, crisp pearl onion, large capers (not caper berries, but hefty capers), artichoke heart, and tiny button mushrooms Because all of the ingredients are similar in size, there are roughly equal amounts of each (rather than, say, a giant artichoke quarter, a few capers, and a pepper strip). Because the antipasto is tightly packed in the jar, only a small amount of the light oil/vinegar/herb "brine" ("dressing") remains. ) to toss with pasta if desired, but there will be little waste if you drain it. br>This product, which I discovered by accident and had never seen in a grocery store, is well worth the money.
It was the first thing I did when I got home. Excellent as a side salad on sandwiches, as well as in regular salads and omelets.
That was not at all what I was expecting. It contains sunflower oil, which has no taste. The variety of vegetables is good; however, I wish the sunflower oil had been replaced with olive oil.
