I grew up eating a concentrated, salty (really salty) olive paste. I've combined it with real feta cheese, olive paste, and strawberry jam on a slice of fresh bread, but these days I'm just eating it plain with rice cakes or toasted gluten-free bread and PG tips tea. Over the decades, the quality has remained constant. It keeps for a long time in the fridge after being opened and is ideal for people who follow a salt-restricted diet (my blood pressure is normally very low). For balance, spread it on crackers with jam or jelly and cheeses: Excellent canape material that is less expensive than caviar. If you enjoy authentic, oil-based cuisine, this is the place to be. This Turkish product, which is an excellent substitute for cured Greek and Turkish olives and is far more versatile, is also available in a spiced (non-spicy) version, but I prefer the pure paste.
It's comparable to what I'd find in Turkey. Product was delivered quickly and was in good condition.
I enjoy olive tapenade and hoped that this would be more authentic than store-bought versions, but it's far too salty for me. I keep my salt intake low to avoid hypertension.
The black olive paste was extremely fresh and delicious, and the delivery method was extremely secure.
It has a strong flavor and can be used alone or in combination with other ingredients to make a variety of tapenades. I like the taste so much that I'm placing a second order.
Exceptionally tasty.
