This is moldy! There were moldy bars all over the box. A bar like that costs a lot. The Larabar I've been using recently does not satisfy me. This is not the first time I have found a moldy bar, but it is the first time I have received a box full of moldy goodies. I hate it, I smell awful.
While I am not sure how this escaped me over the years, I found it at a local store during a clearance sale. There are over 20 types of this kind of Lara bar. You'll find this flavor among the 20+ other flavors. I observed that most of the wrappers had inflated, as if they had been filled with air. A distinctive smell of fermented apples wafted out of one of these bottles on opening. It was discovered that three were not inflated and that one had the same bad smell. When sampling one of those bars, the taste was different, resembling apples instead of cookies.
Amazon should look into this, as it could be that Larabar made a mistake while manufacturing the samples. It is unnecessary to say that I will return the product. The Lara Bars Cashew Cookie I ordered came in 3 boxes, but one box only contained 11 bars, instead of the full 16 bars it was supposed to have. A total of 3 full boxes were paid for. I don't accept it.
As dates are said to have a low glycemic index, I hoped it had a low overall glycemic index. It was said that GI would be even lower when dates mixed with cashews were still sugary. I had been eating lots of Larabar lately, and these were my only sources of carbohydrates. The more I eat of these, the fatter I get, unfortunately. Larabar will be missed highly, so it is with great regret that I have to say goodbye. I am disappointed that it isn't keto, and also that it doesn't have a low GI as I was hoping. would like manufacturers to state the GI of their products on their packages so that it is easier to determine GI without trial-and-error.
