All five packages, on the other hand, smelled rotten and tasted completely spoiled when cooked. br>As an added bonus, they are Non- Certified by the GMO Project. Brussel sprouts are not genetically modified. In fact, there are no GMO vegetables on the market in the United States. Furthermore, every scientific body that has studied GMOs has concluded that GMO foods are no less safe than their non-modified counterparts. So non- The term "genetically modified organism" (GMO) has an offensive, anti-environmental connotation. Marketing nonsense in the name of science. If you want to know the truth, you should reject it. Greenwashing is a term used to describe the practice of making something.
Because the brussel sprouts are so dry out of the bag, they're super convenient and prewashed, making them easy to toast. They aren't trimmed very well, so I had to do it myself, and there aren't a lot of brussel sprouts for the price, so the convenience has to be worth it.
It was disgusting and a complete waste of money. On fresh, I would avoid these, as well as other packaged produce (green beans and broccoli), because they all have the same issues. Save yourself the trouble by not checking the produce that the shoppers are packaging.
We eat these on a weekly basis, and the package's convenience is ideal for us. They are more expensive than "loose" brussel sprouts, but they are well worth the money. The only flaw is that they aren't trimmed properly. Because leaves and long stems are frequently still attached, trimming them is required. I'd say about half of the bag is ready to eat, while the other half requires trimming. Over the last year or so, we've purchased about 50 of these bags.
These are always fresh, crisp, and I love these petite cabbages, so they're a regular addition to my fresh cart. For a different vegetable, I like the'shaved brussel sprouts' sold here. I only have one word to describe this dish: YUM.
The size of these was a letdown for me. They had a diameter of about a nickel or a quarter. It made prepping take an eternity, and there was barely any left after chopping off the hard ends.
Preparing vegetables for dinner isn't difficult, but it can take time if you have to get out a separate pot, get the steamer, and so on. Being able to throw these in the microwave for three minutes saves time. On work nights, cooking for 4 minutes and then dumping into a bowl is a lifesaver. We always include a couple of these in our weekly dinner orders.
Ours, on the other hand, was a little yellow and worn. Still, I like how everything is pre-washed and sliced. Simply toss in a bowl with some olive oil and salt, and bake. It's both simple and tasty.
