Selected User Reviews For Blueberries, 6 oz
For many years, I have been a Fresh customer. All of the fruit I've ordered in the last year has been consistently spoiled, including blueberries. The fruit is extra soft (indicating that the mold has broken down the structure of the fruit) and has white spots on the outside; the most revolting incident was when they appeared to be fine on the outside, but when you eat it, you see it's all white inside - That isn't the case. This type of fruit has the potential to make people very sick. I've noticed that Amazon's Fresh shipments have become less chilled over time. Everything used to be delivered in soft crates that kept everything cool (and which they would pick up the next time they delivered). In addition, each bag contained an ice pack or dry ice to keep the contents cool. This is no longer the case. They simply put the fruit in a regular bag and hope for the best; I no longer buy blueberries or any other fruit from Amazon Fresh and instead go to the supermarket. It's too bad.
"Perhaps it won't happen to me," I reasoned, but I'm going to have to join the chorus of one. Here you will find five-star ratings. br>br>The blueberries that arrived looked and felt fresh, with the firmness that comes from being a day or two ahead of ripeness. br>br>However, even after a couple of days, they were disgusting. They had a grainy texture, almost as if you were biting into a stale pastry. They had a slight blueberry sweetness to them, but the flavor was unlike any blueberry I'd ever tasted - I don't mean that in a negative sense. br>br>I'm not a big fan of giving negative feedback. Maybe it's just bad luck for me. But I also don't want to minimize the fact that these are the worst blueberries I've ever eaten.
I'm scratching my head, trying to figure out how blueberries can look so good but taste so bad. I purchased four of these and threw away three. 75 was thrown away! What a colossal squandering of resources. It has no flavor.
I stopped buying blueberries from other places. I've tried a few different stores in the area, and the berries are usually soft and mushy, if not spoiled, but Amazon Fresh is always fresh and firm. Only one berry was bad out of the many cartons I purchased from them! For me, this is a new high. I've lost count of the number of cartons I've thrown away from other stores! Thank you for keeping Amazon fresh!.
These are truly incredible. In the container, there was not a single smashed or shriveled item! I'm going to buy three the next time! Haha I'm so excited. I included the photo to show how large these blueberries are (note that we had already eaten some, so the container in the photo isn't completely full). br>br>UPDATE: br>br> I bought these again, but they were a different brand this time-- Blueberries are still good, but they are small. Bummer!.
The size, freshness, and flavor of the berry all differ significantly. There were a lot of tiny berries in this carton, as well as some patch berries. It had a mildewy odor, and many of the berries were mushy. Other cartons, on the other hand, are fine; set your expectations low and you won't be disappointed.
Although no moldy ones were discovered, a few of them were soft. Overall, it's an excellent product. I just wish the portions were larger because they are sometimes my entire breakfast with tea.
I've never had flavorless blueberries before, but they came from Fresh. They're more expensive than supermarket blueberries (delivery), but they're worth it. I keep buying them in the hopes of still getting some nutritional value out of them. I have yet to have a good piece of fruit from Amazon. This is an area where I hope they can improve.
