Most people think they like cranberries, but almost all cranberry products contain sugar or apple juice, so they prefer the sugary tartness of cranberries. It's probably a good idea to buy some sweet tart candies. People like the taste of cranberries and are addicted to sugar, so they put sugar or sugar from apple juice, etc. into them. I was relieved to discover that dried cranberries were available instead of capsules.
However, the taste was extremely sweet and I returned to the printout of the nutrients and
73 grams of sugar per 100 gram serving that is 73 %
I'm looking for dried cranberries that don't have any sugar added to them. However, this does not appear to exist, and if it does, it is not available at a reasonable price, so I look for packaging with the least amount of added sugar. I was comparing a few and this one stood out because it had fewer calories and added sugar grams. I couldn't believe how much sugar was in the package when I opened it and took a bite. I discovered the 'trick' these people used to fool me when I compared this package to my previous package from another supplier. The serving size is reduced by 30% with this package. It's no surprise that they have fewer calories and added sugar. When the serving sizes are normalized, this package loses. Because they smell like sugar, I won't buy them again. Sugar is not required for dried cranberries. I believe that adding sugar to a product is more expensive than simply having cranberries. Oh well.
A few weeks ago, I had an idea. I had a craving for dried cranberries or craisins, so I ordered a large bag because I eat dried fruit frequently these days. These are high in sugar! br>br> Yes, they are tasty, but I would not have purchased them if I had known they were so high in sugar. br>br>I'm attempting to distribute them to others, but I doubt I'll be able to finish this bag and will have to discard it. Finally, because these cranberries contain sugar, they should be refrigerated as soon as possible after being opened. Another factor that would have prevented me from purchasing these is the lack of refrigerator space in my home. br>br>Well, live and learn, as they say. I'm not going to buy any more.
Because we had a late, heavy snowfall, and the robins were starving, I bought this. I swear I have robins who are hooked on them now! If there aren't any dried cranberries out for them to eat, the robins will actually squawk at me.
This is the fourth time I've ordered something like this. My first three orders arrived within two to three days of placing my order. My husband and I give cranberries to the robins every summer. We purchased I'm A Nut Cranberries this year, and the robins absolutely adore them! They devour them as soon as we place them on the table. The only other ingredients listed on the cranberry bag are sugar and sunflower oil. The cranberries were also a hit with us. The berries are plump, large, moist, and sweetened to perfection. If you don't like sugar or sweet foods, you might want to try a different brand of cranberries. Four pounds may seem like a lot, but it's not when you're feeding robins.
I'll be buying these every few months from now on because they're such a great product. The packaging is the only quibble, and it's a minor one. Once you've trimmed off the top layer of plastic to gain access to the unsealed section with the ziplock below - That's a little too close to the ziplock bag. As a result, getting a good grip on each side to open the package becomes increasingly difficult. Even a half-inch more would make a significant difference. Three- It would be ideal to have a quarter-inch gap. But the plastic is of good quality, and the ziplock holds up to a lot of use, which it does because there are so many cranberries here! A fantastic blend- overnight oats are on the menu!.
etc. I just got it last night and decided to make cranberry cup cakes, which turned out fantastically! In a big seal, 4 pounds is a lot. a plastic bag with a clear expiration date on the front I'm glad I made this purchase and will continue to do so in the future because the company's quality is excellent and their packaging is meticulous. The cranberries are sweet (but not overly so), chewy, and much bigger than those found in other popular brands. I'm going to buy more!.
