The first time I learned of it was from my dad, who was from Canada You are going to love this and now you know where to buy.
The pea soup "plain" that Habitant has in their stock is 3 cans. My first order of plain hams and my second order of smoked hams. There were several dented cans in the shipment. While I tried the plain soup, it reminded me of the soup I used to eat when it was still available in supermarkets in the States. However, the flavor was not exactly the same. The soup with the ham I have not tried yet, so I cannot comment on it. While it was nice to experience a taste from the past, it was unfortunately not the experience I expected. I hesitated for a long time before purchasing this product because I thought the price was too high. Now I regret making the purchase. The next time I purchase, I will not do so.
I found this recipe on Amazon and I am so glad I found it. It was a product I have used and loved for years, but now we are unable to purchase it in our local I will continue to buy!.
The item I ordered from you was delivered quickly and I am so glad to have been able to find it. The last time we visited my home state, I could not find any to bring home with me. I used to be able to buy this when I was a kid. I remember it just the way I remember it! The cans arrived in good condition even after having been sent from Canada to the United States.
It used to be available locally in MA, but this vendor ships directly from Canada now. Formerly, I was able to get it locally, but not anymore.
Growing up in NH I enjoyed Habitant Pea Soup and miss it it has been a long time since I enjoyed it. This was the last item I could find and order. Definitely one of the best comfort foods.
