When I was growing up, the house I grew up in was situated on the edge of a small town on six acres. I grew potatoes and corn with my dad, and we had a cow, two pigs and a milk cow. There were two small damson trees in our orchard next to them were two small damsons. It was my mother's tradition to harvest the damsons and preserve them. After discovering this product on Amazon eighty years later, I remembered how much I liked its sweet, tart taste. My 87 years old brain reminisces about wonderful memories long ago (that was nearly 40 years ago). Damson preserves have a taste quite different from most other jams and preserves, and I am confident you will enjoy them.
You can also eat them for fun. This jam is up to you. Taste is a very subjective thing, so I won't declare this to be the jam for everyone. The Damson plum is a fruit that I heard about when I lived in the UK, but I did not find them available for sale there. In the states, I decided to plant some damson trees when I moved back. We're keeping our fingers crossed that they will bear fruit soon. Having no more patience, I ordered a jar of Tiptree to try it for myself. Yummy.
If you love sweets, you'll love this. Despite popular opinion, the tartness balances out the sugar and the ingredients are simple and straightforward to make. Still, I think it's too sweet for some, but it's perfect for me. My goal is to be as sparing in my use as possible until my next order arrives, but I don't think I'll be able to do so. There's nothing better than this jam. Highly recommended. Five out of five,.
I found the jam to be too sweet, but the quality was decent. I was hoping to get a stronger, more sour taste. As a child, I grew up in Eastern Europe. As an adult, I am always in search of foods that taste more "natural". It does have a robust, smokey plum flavor, but I think it is too sweet and flat of a jam for my tastes. You don't have to worry about it being too Jello-like it is just right I like it, and the texture is perfect. As I am a big fan of this brand, I add a tiny bit of lemon juice to it before spreading it on toast. I recommend this brand overall, but my preference is for fruit preserves that taste more like real fruit.
It is not easy to find damson plum preserves of such high Small and dense, the fruit looks like a raisin. The plum world doesn't know much about this old variety, it's not too popular. Preserves can be made from it because of its depth of flavor. In contrast with the usual market varieties, Damson is very low in sugar and high in juice. The manufacturer of this preserve does an outstanding job at capturing the essence of this old world marvel at a reasonable price. My favorite use is to put a tablespoon of the preserve in a glass of cold sparkling wine, such as a brut Cava or even Thanks for reading!.
This gel has a really nice texture, it's not too gel-like, nor is it There is a sweet taste to it but it is not as sickeningly sweet as what we call corn syrup in the U. S. -I'm looking forward to trying the strawberry option, but I first need to finish up this one first (not to mention.
There are three flavors in the mix (Damson Plum, Black Currant, and Orange Marmalade) and by far my favorite is the Damson Plum. Unfortunately, once I reached about an inch of the bottom of the jar, it had crystallized, making it impossible for me to eat the whole jar. These jams (in my opinion) have way too much sugar in them. I enjoyed making the jam, but how can I prevent the jam from crystallizing? When it gets to that point, it tastes so bad. It is not often that I eat very much. The jam I like on my bagel is always very minimal. But you can keep it in the fridge for longer. Added an edit A Damson Plum from Tiptree is available for $4 at my local Walmart. I'm glad to hear that you got 94!.
Only reason I did not give it a 5 is because of the price. As a counterpoint to the sweetness, it has a little tartness. There is no doubt that I will buy this item Since I knew he would eat all of it within a month if I didn't and he has several other jellies to choose from, I lied to him that it was really, really sweet. Sometimes a girl has to do what a girl has to do to keep a little something for herself. That's so funny.
How could you possibly be kidding me? A proud 43% of its ingredients are Fruit plum mind you, but cherry pectin and plum instead. All that is left is sugar. I think this product is a scam and ridiculous. No more so than peanut butter, plum jam is not that special. The document would have been returned to me if I hadn't opened it.
