As a chef, I try to stay away from this powder. The image of a medium ground powder in the description image had me fooled, and it's dishonest. Because this onion powder is so fine, it can't be used to cook meats or vegetables. It offends me greatly. It is a waste of time. as well as the product being misrepresented by the company.
I can tell this is the wrong product even before I open the bag; I've bought both this superfine and regular (gritty) onion powder in the past, and I prefer the regular. The superfine powder kicks up a lot of dust and makes a big mess. I wish I'd gotten the regular powder that I ordered and that was advertised. I'm disappointed that the products were switched, and now I'm not only stuck with something I can't use, but I'm also hesitant to order again in the hopes of getting what I need.
I'm a little perplexed by the negative feedback. While I prefer minced onions to powdered onions, I've been buying this onion powder instead because it gives me a lot more bang for my buck. I mostly buy it to add onion flavor to my foods, and it seems to work well. When I sauté foods, I start by heating up some oil in the pan. After that, add the onion powder, cumin powder, tumeric powder, ginger powder, minced garlic, liquid aminos, and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. In most cases, I'll also add a small amount of chicken or vegetable broth. I cook until the spices have released a pleasant aroma and the garlic has browned on medium heat. After that, I'm ready to sauté whatever vegetables, meat, or other ingredients I have on hand. br>So far, this onion powder appears to work well and adds a natural onion flavor to my meals and sauces. The price is unbeatable.
quality. It's a fantastic deal! I believe that many people purchase those small spice jars and replace them as soon as one is empty. That bothers me, so I prefer to buy in bulk so I can simply refill my jar and seal the rest.
This was purchased to supplement my "emergency food" stock. I can't speak to the flavor because it's in a sealed bag, but I've tried this brand's vegan chickenless and beefless broth powders and they're delicious, so I'm confident that this onion powder will be just as good.
When it comes to onions, the terms "powder" and "granulated" are frequently interchanged, but this is unmistakably powder, as in a messy, super dusty, extra fine powder. I was looking for granulated, and that's exactly what the picture depicted. Fortunately, it smells good and tastes good. Every time I use it, however, it makes a huge mess. Please update the images and the description, Frontier!.
" Well, my friends, I was mistaken! This has a deep flavor, is truly a powder (not the granulated crap from the grocery store), and is simply the best stuff on the planet. I'm never going to buy onion powder again. Don't wait, just go ahead and buy it now!.
I was blown away by how fresh the powder was. The product has a pleasant scent, and I've used it in a number of recipes with great results. Very well done.
