These don't taste like bay leaves, they don't smell like bay leaves, and they don't even smell like bay leaves. Bay leaves are not the leaves I use to cook with and make tisane in India, but these are not the bay leaves I use normally to bake and make tisane. Fragrance is not present in any of them. The things I have in my hands have absolutely no use to me.

There is no comparison to grocery store bay leaves - you won't even find them! The difference is evident when I use them in all my soup broths (especially Jewish chicken broth) and various sauces. The spices from this brand are awesome. I've ordered a few other things from them as well.

It's been a very busy week and I have lots of bay leaves to buy. Adding it to a dish gave it a great deal of flavor. They are used in the tomato and onion gravy that you see in most Indian curries as well as in Biriyani! They have a lot of great products, so I plan on purchasing them in the future. Bay leaves have a wonderful fragrance. When I opened this package, I was amazed at how fresh the leaves were, providing a stark contrast to the small jars of tea leaves I had previously purchased at the grocery store. I originally tried them as vegetarian), and have been very pleased with the flavors they impart. The spices in the Pulao ( Indian rice with vegetables) were delicious. The product I received was great! Packaging is excellent, one of the most important factors is that the leaves are intact in the zipper bag, which is thick and does not let the scent escape. It was nice to see a zipper bag for an Indian product. When I opened the bag, I was blown away by the smell of the leaf. Authenticity at its finest!.
