In order to season my flour when making fried chicken, I use The Old Bay Seasoning, the black pepper, salt, and garlic powder make it taste incredible! Like Shake and Bake in the 80's, this is a sweet treat that tastes like ice cream. There is a con in terms of the type of container The plastic containers are all soft (they stopped using the metal containers a long time ago) which means there is no way to fasten the top, so it doesn't close I have to hold the lid down if I need a little to sprinkle from the cover. Otherwise, I will have to pour out all of the contents of the cover. Keeping the popularity of this amazing seasoning alive, I strongly recommend that the company switch to the original metal container from the beginning.
This bottle is shaped like a There is no other reason to purchase this product! Whenever I want to use old bay seasoning, I can just go to the store and purchase it.
In addition to this newer tin can, I still have an old tin can with a best by date to Feb 2015, and the old tin can I bought here no longer has a best by date. As you can see from a side-by-side comparison, the newer one is brighter orange in color (since spices fade over time), but that's the only difference (a visible difference). The old and new products taste pretty much alike. When I tasted the old and new, I was unable to discover any difference. As a result, if your can doesn't come with a best by date and you cannot get a clear response to where it can be found, it will taste like the 2014 Due to not having a difference in taste between them, I choose to keep the old one pound can (instead of throwing it away).
As far as the seasoning is concerned, it is just what you would expect from Old Bay, but the lid on it is horrendous. In addition to popping up, it doesn't have any real way to stay in place, so you have to hold the lid down (which has a hinge on one side) while you shake the seasoning. My solution was to put it in a glass seasoning jar I have. It works perfectly. It's too consistent to give these large Old Bay cans a 5 star rating since there has been no need for me to do this since the container ought to be good enough, but it's been the case for 2/2 of the cans I've purchased.
In the process, the lid flies open and dumps all over whatever I was Choose a metal tin of a smaller size. Until the remainder of my precious old bay is put into another container, I will not be using it!.
I'm not sure what I expected, but it certainly wasn't what I expected. It was a great spice that everyone enjoyed, and I know everyone has a different taste. My mouth was coated in an unpleasant taste for the remainder of the day after eating it. could have been worse would have been if I sprinkled it on a meat or fish that is expensive.
A plastic material. The can is not at all a can. An empty plastic container is shown here. In the end, this is Five Star for those interested only in the Old Bay inside. Upon selling out to McCormick, Old Bay now only comes in plastic containers. This needs to be updated in the description and on the photo.
This is a seasoning used for seafood that is so much more than what you would expect. We use it to season chicken, pork, and beef, and I can also use it with salad dressings. It is a local seasoning mix from the Chesapeake Bay area now available nationwide. Adding it to soups and stews is excellent as well. In all honesty Hon, this is the best condiment mix knew to man.
