A new recipe included ground bay leaves, and I tried it. As an alternative to a bay leaf, I've used it in other recipes with good results, and I don't need to remove a bay leaf from the dish.
When I was a kid, I had ground bay leave. There was no way I would ever The fact that they have finally been identified is so gratifying. They are exactly as I recall them. My favorite use for them is on everything. I liked it a lot.
My reasoning for buying it was that I heard bay leaves kept ants at bay. It didn't seem to affect the ones I have in my kitchen at all. The rest of the bag will have to go to other uses rather than wasting it.
