It is fresh and easy to use. I filled up some small jars for sharing with other folks who cook, and it was a really tasty product! Practically a lifetime supply, unless you use it very frequently, so I filled some small jars to share with others.
Ground bay leaves are great for recipes like my turkey meatloaf and sauces as well as soups and stews from which you don't want to have to fish them out Since I live in a culinary hinterland, it isn't possible for me to locate one. The last ground bay I purchased over the internet turned out to be flaked instead of A good old McCormick's is, however, always a winner. There is a large size apparently designed for restaurants, so this product will stay in your pantry for quite some time. It never has a chance to get old.
It never occurred to me that bay leaves could be ground into powder, yet the flavor they impart to savory dishes is amazing. While searching on Amazon for Cajun Spice, I came across this item that was being sold for less than $25. I got it with free SuperSaver shipping since I purchased Over the weekend, I used these ground bay leaves in a stew and I was blown away by the taste. You don't have to worry about crunchy leaves hiding in your In the past, I would have usually used 2 My recipe called for 3 dried bay leaves, so I added about 1/2 teaspoon of the ground leaves and it was perfect. I bought this bottle from McCormick Spice company, and it contains 14 ounces, so I can use it My favorite part is that it smells fresh and has a nice shaker lid, and I plan to use it going forward.
I like it a lot!.
When I make soups and other dishes, I use a bay leaf frequently. This gave my stuffing a unique flavor, and I used it for the stuffing for my Thanksgiving dinner. br>We tested the product to make sure it was recommend you use this instead of whole bay leaves to make the flavor more intense.
There is a lot you get, so it may be hard to use it all. Perhaps you can freeze some or share some.
Since I didn't even know GRUND bay leaves existed, I will definitely be using these products in the future. The bay leaves I use for soups and stews as well as for a special gumbo recipe I make are mostly in soups and stews. It's great to have bay leaves in this version!.
Use of the program is very convenient. The flavor is great in foods such as meatloaf and casseroles, and a teaspoon is great in everything from sauces to soups. As a powder, its flavor isn't as strong as leaves since it doesn't have that much moisture. Your dish can also be olive green if it has this ingredient. If you plan to make stock or soup, I would not recommend this.
I found it to be useful for the recipes I needed.
