I really liked this rub, but the reason for the three stars isn't because of the taste, which I give a five-star rating to. My assessment is based on the size and cost of the product. First, one container will only cover two racks of ribs if you use the rub liberally, so I wish they offered larger containers so I wouldn't have to order these smaller units as frequently. The second reason for the low rating is that I found the same items at a competitor's store for a lower price.
I purchased this seasoning mix based on positive reviews, but I was duped. I believe that a good seasoning should enhance the meat's flavor, but this stuff "masks" it. It's mostly because it's loaded with sugar and far sweeter than I anticipated. Then there are far too many other flavors in the mix, making the flavor unnecessarily complex. It actually tastes like processed food when you eat home-cooked food. Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and paprika are all much better options.
I enjoy the bone in Famous Dave's "naked" wings, and I wanted to see if this Country Chicken seasoning tasted similar to the flavor of the "naked" wings available in their restaurants. Of course, restaurant-prepared food will taste different from home-cooked food, but I discovered that this seasoning tastes very similar to my favorite Dave's wings. I put my wings in a Ziploc bag with olive oil and a generous amount of this Country Chicken seasoning, then refrigerate them for about 8 hours. Grilled on my propane grill for 10 hours, these are very tasty. I've tried a lot of different wing seasoning combinations, and this is definitely one of my top three favorite dry seasoning flavors. It is neither spicy nor overly salty; it simply tastes great.
I was born and raised in the state of Minnesota. Minnesotans, on the other hand, aren't particularly fond of spicy foods. This spicy blend of spices and heat is not for the faint of heart. It's edible, but most Minnesotans aren't fond of it. That's why I primarily use it to keep raccoons out of my bird feeders - About four of them have been destroyed. It's a potent and powerful spice for cooking. A small amount of something can go a long way. I suggest a full dose for raccoons. (Birds don't have taste buds and will be unconcerned. ).
It's a fantastic rub with the perfect balance of spices to saturate your taste buds. It was used on baby back ribs and smoked in a pit barrel smoker for 45 minutes before being glazed in Famous Dave's BBQ sweet and zesty sauce and finished in the smoker. The glaze turned out beautifully, and the flavor was perfect. This is a product that I will buy again and again.
What's the best way to cook chicken in the slow cooker? Sprinkle this on the breast of a whole chicken, turn it over, and place it in the crockpot. This should be sprinkled on top of the chicken as well as inside it. Set the crockpot to low for 6 hours and enjoy the most delicious chicken you've ever had! There isn't anything more that needs to be said. Put the drippings (there will be a lot) in a pot on the stove and reduce (boil) it for about 5-minutes to get the best gravy in the world. After 10 minutes, add some flour (Wondra is what I use). EXCELLENT and the most simple dinner you'll ever make.
Because we love the Steak and Burger seasoning, I decided to give the other two a try. Despite their excellent quality, I believe we will limit ourselves to using the Steak and Burger on everything.
