The potency of any spice can be preserved for 1 to 3 years by storing it in an airtight container and keeping it away from sunlight, moisture and excessive heat. The best option to preserve food is freezing it in an airtight container, whenever possible.
The product comes in a re-sealable package It is a very heavy and sturdy bag that is sealable. Since I buy mine from the freezer, I have been storing it in there It works fine.
It is made from all natural ingredients and is of incredibly high quality. As far as the spices that make up this garam masala are concerned, it is pretty basic. This spice is a staple in my spice cabinet as well as a base for many others.

There was something about this Garam Masala that I liked. The fact that it is organic is wonderful. In any case, this is not a traditional garam masala. In addition to cinnamon, cardamom and cloves are included in the first 3 ingredients Describe cloves. As a rule, I use cumin, cardamom, and cardamom powder in my Garam Masala Coriander is the first ingredient, followed by cumin, chili, and salt. There is way too much clove in Frontier's garam marsala, after which cinnamon takes second place. In both cases, it overpowers the dishes I use it in. Most nights of the week, I cook Indian food. I'm having trouble with my recipes that call for a classic garam masala they are way too sweet and heavily flavored with cloves. It would be nice to try adding more cumin, coriander, pepper, nutmeg, ginger, and bayleaf, but that is not possible. I probably won't buy it again unless they change the ingredients. There needs to be a rethink of Frontier's Garam Masala recipe, and consider making a more traditional garam masala for us Indian food devotees. I have updated After ordering this masala again, I actually ended up ordering it After some time, I worked out a formula that included more cumin, coriander, black pepper, and other spices depending upon the dish, so that I could use this Masala regularly for Indian food. While it is more difficult to do this, finding organic garam masala can be challenging, so I tried lots of things. Even though (overall) I would prefer Frontier to modify this Garam Marsala to make it a bit more traditional, I appreciate the freshness and quality of Frontier's spices.

While I appreciate the fact that it's organic, I find the amount of cinnamon and cloves to be quite heavy. The amount I use is half what I usually do in order to avoid overdosing on I do agree with the reviewer that if you use the quantity you usually do, it kind of ruin the taste of your dish (unless you are a cinnamon and clove lover). You might not have heard of her butter chicken recipe, but if you are looking at this Garam masala, there's a good chance that you have (the odds are higher if you I picked up this spice mix after picking up the first bottle at the store - it was a completely different mix of spices, there was no cinnamon in it, and it wasn't nearly as flavorful - but this is perfect for her recipe! Among the Garam Masala brands available outside of small Indian markets, this is my favorite. There is something rich and warm about the flavors. There are some other major brands, but they don't offer the same depth as Nokia. The Butter Chicken recipe was often made in our house to the point It is a great bulk price to buy in bulk. For freshness, I store it in my freezer.
