It cost $26 to purchase. for a weight of five pounds You are unable to return this item. Other locations. Walmart is still included in this. in the midst of everything. For $5, you can have it. Jeff, I'm guessing This one got away from the team. Actually, it's quite depressing. WASTE OF MONEY if I hadn't read up on the broken grains and quality first. Go to the store early, take precautions, and stay safe. This is why you should buy good rice. It's not worth the trouble. at all.
I'm Asian, so I grew up eating rice, and I adore Jasmine rice on its own, rather than in fried rice or anything else. Rice can be cooked fluffy and soft without being overcooked. Please inquire of any of your Asian friends, particularly those who grew up in an Asian country, about how to prepare rice. br>br>I bought this rice, despite the fact that it was about $2 more expensive than usual. The reason for this is that not all Jasmine rice is created equal, as I've sampled most of the brands available - This is one of the best-tasting wines we've had so far. Maybe I got some freshly harvested rice, but most companies buy from the same farmers most of the time, so this batch (September 2020) is a safe bet. Even if it's been a day since you cooked it, the rice remains fluffy and soft - Some of the rice will harden and will need to be reheated in the microwave before it can be eaten again. When kept at room temperature, this one does not require the use of a microwave and does not spoil quickly. All who eat jasmine rice in its natural state should try it.
My bag has now been thrown away. It had to be the last bag in a stack of pallets. Even rinsing it didn't help because the grains were all broken. It turns into a starchy glob when cooked. I can make rice, but this is beyond my abilities.
I saw a truck full of this stuff being unloaded at my favorite Thai restaurant. As a result, I placed an order for a tote. Yep. This is the real deal. Cooks as if you're an elderly Thai lady of 86 years. I simply rinse it twice and place it in the Zojirushi on the Jasmine setting. Nirvana for rice eaters.
The key to a good result with this rice is to bring the water to a boil, then add the rice, cover, and reduce the heat to a low simmer. Then, after 20 minutes, fluff it with a fork and it's ready to eat. That's true, and it's as good as it gets. However, at the store, the same type (not brand) costs half as much. I wasn't planning on it, but 5 pounds should keep me going for a few months.
I rinse the rice before putting it in the pot, but it turns out gummy, and while I usually cook rice on the stovetop for 19 minutes, this rice isn't done and still has a hard center, so it needs to cook for at least another 25 minutes. It's tender but gummy by that point.
This is a terrible product that isn't even close to what is advertised online; whatever you do, don't buy from this seller! br>I wish there was a way to give a score of zero. Amazon, in my opinion, should ban this seller so that the company's good name is not tarnished.
