There is no way to get a refund on this item and it cannot be returned. Though the yeast expiration date was fine, the yeast was dead and was totally ineffective. I have made plenty of bread using my bread machine in the past months, but the loaf of honey wheat bread did not rise. I followed the recipe for summer wheat bread, but this batch also did not rise. A third time, I made Italian herb bread and doubled the yeast content, but it still didn't work. I could not get the loaves to rise. The Fleishman's I buy from Amazon is always great, but it won't be worth the time and money.
Moreover, the packaging is misleading. While clearly advertised as 1 pound, it comes out to 16 ounces. Despite that, the shipping weight is 12 pounds. There are 6 ounces in this bottle. There is no logic to it.
