Questions & Answers

Is the rye flour light or dark?

I believe it is somewhere in the middle. Dark rye has about 30 grams of fiber per cup, while light rye has only about 8 grams. There are 16 grams in this item. Furthermore, it is simply labeled "rye flour," rather than "whole grain."

Is it possible to recycle these bags?

I haven't purchased this item, but I have purchased oat flour from this company, which I believe is recyclable.

Do you use white or brown rice flour in this recipe?

The following is what the website says about the All Purpose GF Flour: The following are the ingredients: Rice flour, brown rice flour, tapioca flour, millet flour, organic inulin, and xanthan gum are all organic.

To the business: Is this unbleached, unbromated flour?

Yes, both.

Leakage from packages is discussed in detail
4/5

I read the reviews and decided to give it a shot, despite both positive and negative comments about product leakage; here is my contribution. When the six packages arrived, they were packed into a larger Amazon box with other items. br>br>1) Be careful what you order to go with it. A BLACK Avery binder with clear covers that you can insert typed covers into (including the spine) was loose in the large Amazon box with the order I received. Imagine how much fun it was trying to get the tapioca flour in the larger Amazon box, which was a low-grade fine mist, off of/out of the inside of these clear covers. USE CAUTION WITH WHAT YOU PUT IN THE SAME ORDER AS THIS FLOUR. br>br>2) I haven't tried the flour yet, but I'm sure it'll be fine. br>br>3) I weighed each bag separately. The bag's weight was number two - 2 pounds. TWO of them were: 1 pounds. TWO of them were. 8 pounds. So I paid for a total of seven in my box. Although the total weight of the flour was 2 pounds, the amount of flour that could be used was only 6. Basically, I had a pound of flour loose in my package, either in the Arrowhead Mills box (most of it) or in the larger Amazon box with the rest of my order. As a result, I had to pay $4 for the service. Instead of $4 per pound, you'll pay $85 per pound. a pound for $17 4) The flour leaks out of some of the bags in a fine mist from the bag's top. I recommend that they investigate the bag's top seal to see if it can be improved. I would recommend placing the bags in a heavy plastic bag that is tightly sealed inside their box of six bags at the very least. br>br>5) Cleaning tips for loose flour Make use of a vacuum hose to get rid of the debris. Then, using a dry Swiffer sheet (for the "broom" for cleaning floors), wipe each bag one last time.

I was let down
3/5

On May 10, I placed an order for this item. May 13th was the date of receipt. I planned to use them on May 14 to make bread, but the packages stated, "Best if used by - 15 MAY 2021 is the date! Although I understand that "used by" and "Expire date" are not synonymous, I am disappointed that this item was sent with such a short use by date! I took one package out of the freezer and put the rest in the fridge. This flour was not available in any of the local markets, so I had to order it. I was planning on ordering some other difficult-to-find flours, but now I'm hesitant.

This is a great, new product! So, something went wrong with the first box I received, and there were only 5 bags inside the large box, with flour all over it
5/5

I informed Amazon, and they promptly sent me a new box containing six bags of flour, which was the correct quantity. br>I've made sourdough with it, and as it ferments, it smells like honey, which is really delicious and earthy. Because it disrupts the gluten structure, you must be cautious when using it in bread doughs. The flavor, on the other hand, is something I enjoy. I've also tried sifting out some of the bran, which appears to help. br>It appears to be fairly recently mulled, as I detect a higher level of enzyme activity in doughs containing a high percentage of this flour. As a result, you must keep a close eye on the rise.

Great value at 74@lb

Why should you be taken advantage of at the supermarket? I was tired of my local grocer never having rye flour on the shelf or charging exorbitant prices for it. I've paid $3 per pound for non-organic produce. Kroger carries organic products; I just baked my first batch of Sour Rye today (I made the sour starter over the weekend), and the results were very good to excellent. br>br>As for quality, I just baked my first batch of Sour Rye today (I made the sour starter over the weekend), and the results were very good to excellent. br>br> The flavor was close enough to bakery quality to please these tastebuds, and the texture was just right; To bite into, it's delectably chewy and satisfying. (If you prefer your rye dark, you can use strong coffee instead of water in your bread recipe because this flour is a little light. )br>br>Rye lovers, give Arrowhead Mills a try; You won't be disappointed, I promise. You can't possibly be upset about the cost.

It's a good test for true gluten intolerance, and it can also help with seasonal allergies
5/5

This is one of the more flavorful spelt flowers I've come across. It has a fine texture and a delicious flavor that is slightly nuttier than wheat flower. It's an excellent test for those who suspect they're gluten intolerant. Many people are truly Fructan intolerant, and if they can eat spelt, which contains gluten, it helps them figure out what the real issue is. In addition, switching to spelt and eliminating dairy has significantly improved my seasonal allergies. Anyone with seasonal allergies and suspected gluten sensitivity should give it a try. If you have Celiac disease or a true gluten sensitivity, you should not try this because spelt contains gluten.

I'm not going to buy anything else in the future
3/5

I use spelt flour a lot because it's easier for me to digest, and I usually buy Bob's Red Mill, but I thought I'd give this a shot. I'm sorry to say that after going through half of my box (3 pounds of flour), I'm disappointed! br>br>My main issue is that this flour does not rise; I make fresh bread weekly with both spelt and regular flour, and this flour consistently does not rise; as a result, while my family has been enjoying soft, pillowy breads, I have been eating dense breads! Yuck! br>br>From now on, I'm going to stick with Bob's Red Mill.

AN EXCELLENT GLUTEN-FREE OPTION
5/5

This gluten-free recipe Free flour is fantastic (except for those with celiac disease, as there is a risk of cross contamination). I've been using it for years, and it's completely replaced all of my other products. for each cup of all-purpose flour, substitute 1 1/2 cups oat flour This recipe calls for all-purpose flour, which works well in muffins and cookies. It gives baked goods a wonderful nutty flavor. I've even come up with my own recipes and make pasta with the flour!.

Finally, Christmas cookies that taste as good as they look! On the 21st of June, there was a new update
3/5

While I still believe this product deserves 5 stars, I have a major issue with my most recent shipment (my second). They arrived on June 6, 2021, and they're all due to expire on July 22, 2021. I don't think I'll be able to finish 6 bags in a month! Is this for real? It appears that they are simply trying to get rid of ones that are about to expire. br>If that's the case going forward, I'm not going to buy anything from Amazon. br>br>br>The only flour blend I've found that doesn't have what I refer to as the "gluten-free" factor is this one. "With no aftertaste. " My gluten-free meals will now be consumed by my entire family. Cookies are provided for free. In fact, no one is aware that they are gluten-free. Unless I tell them otherwise, they are free to do whatever they want. They've only told me that the cookies are delicious. br>br>(I've tried King Arthur, Pamela's, and a variety of home-cooked meals. ) In the ten years since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, I've made blends and others, and they've all had the "gluten-free" label. "no extra charge for the aftertaste" - This flour, however, is an exception.
