What if I want to make polenta out of this?

Those who hope their polenta will taste like traditional polenta should not make it. Considering how the grind differs and the fact that the corn has been processed with lime, it will have a different texture and taste.

In this case it is cornflour, and I'm using it for making corn tortillas only this cornflour is totally different from the wheat flour I use for conventional

Do you know if this is keto friendly?

No, this product does not fit into the keto diet. In spite of the low carb content of corn masa, a regular serving will add enough carbohydrates to your diet to throw you out of ketosis.

Can anyone tell me if they have tried making pupusas using this masa flour?

While I have not made pupusas, I have enjoyed making tortillas, gorditas, and tamales from it. The method should work for pupusas as well. (I'd like to try it because you made me curious. A delicious treat)

As evident by Bob's own admission, when he followed his own instructions, he did not make his tortillas with this Masa! Oh my gosh! Since I cannot get it off my hands when I pat and roll out a tortilla, I have a bowl full of HOT GLUE and am unable to make a single tortilla!
I've been making tortillas by hand for over 50 years, and I must say, this is by far the worst stuff I've ever tried. So far, we do not know what it tastes like. Although I wish to try a tortilla, the difficulty in making one makes me believe that I will never get to taste It is always my practice to follow the directions when I receive a new food product I figure the manufacturer knows best. WELL ok then. This is egt This is egt I will not be doing that in this case. According to the instructions on the package, I added salt to the 2 cups Masa & Spicy sauce, even though I am not a big salt lover. Combined in a 11 ratio. I poured 5 cups of hot water into the cup. I watched it glom into a solid yellow mass almost instantly. Adding a bit more water made things better. Masa Harina I've ever used (organic or not) typically requires about one tablespoon. The amount of water you need is 75 cups or a little bit more Two cups of Masa to one cup of water. The stuff that this stuff needs is just water, and it's so weird. Finally, I added almost two cups of water (adding a little bit at a time while stirring) and the whole thing collapsed into a yellow jelly-like substance. A glue stick. My hands stuck to the dry Masa like cement when I tried to mix more dry Masa into it. To scrape it off, I had to dig out a spatula Afterwards, I washed my hands with soap. When I am able to make some tortillas, I will let you know about the flavor and taste etc. It smells great, so I am guessing the taste is I agree, but. Irregardless, I must say that ALSO, I need to say that This is egt This is egt Please use COLD water when mixing the powder. If you buy this, I highly recommend you do so.

In the event you intend to use this flour as a substitute for Bread Flour, you know that it will not work. The color of this is rather similar to that of a peeled arepa. A hint. It's really tasty and you become accustomed to the taste after awhile. It is important to prepare the thin dough so that the arepa is softer.

My next thought was to see if there is any organic masa available. glad to see that Bob's Red Mill has one! They are a company I love and trust a lot! Well, despite the fact that the price is about ten times higher than the traditional style, I will never go back to the traditional style! It takes a little bit more finesse to get the right texture with this masa, so be patient and play around with the fat and liquid amounts, but oh my goodness, the flavor is out of this world! It has been a long time since tamales have tasted this good. It will make you so wonderfully happy that you will just have to get it. Having made tortillas before, I am eager to try making my own I can't get over how delicious this masa is.

It was the recipe itself that was horrendous not the Masa flour. Despite the lack of stars, I decided not to deduct any points since the fault lies with the person who shared the recipe. Moral of the story, not all people who share recipes cook decent food. To create my own recipes, I will use the Masa.

This flour is amazing! Made tacos with it and never want to use store bought flour again! Mix flour with water until you have dough, and make mini tacos by pressing the dough into the taco shells. I'm happy with the quality of my cast iron griddle. It consistently cooks evenly and they turn out perfect every time. I will be buying.

Tamales cooked in a skillet are delicious

The recipe for tamale pie I found on YouTube helped me to find this product. A cast iron skillet baked in the style of Dutch ovens. The only thing you need to remember is to not apply it too thick. I made it with my Better Than Bullion Roasted Chicken stock and it turned out In the end, I made two, one beef and one chicken. Each was exceptional in its own way.
