Bring a pot of water to a boil with 1/2 teaspoon salt. Reduce the heat to low and stir in 1 cup Rolled Barley Flakes. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 10 minutes with the lid on. Remove from heat and set aside to cool for 2 minutes before serving with milk and brown sugar, white sugar, or honey. I bought the barley because Stephen Harrod Buhner stated in one of my favorite herbal medicine books, 'Herbal Antivirals,' that livestock fed a combination of oats and barley were less likely to contract a virus. I've been adding barley to my oatmeal because it has a lower risk of illness. br>I've been feeling better recently, but I'm not sure how much of that is due to the barley because I also take other herbs. Recently, I've been spending more time alone. except for my wife. br>The reason I only gave the barley three stars is because it was bland. I couldn't find any other rolled barley that wasn't outrageously priced. I understand that growing food is not expensive, but it appears to me that you are overcharging.
My stomach is happy because it cooks in 20 minutes. Barley is certainly beneficial to people who suffer from diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, and other ailments. I had been buying RedMill Barley Flakes for a long time, but couldn't find them anywhere in store or online for the past 2/3 months, so I decided to look for other brands and found this wonderful product. I think this one cooks faster and has a better flavor than RedMill Barley Flakes, so I'm glad I found it and will recommend it to my friends as well. Mulberry Lane Farms, thank you very much!.
I was tired of the off-the-shelf cereals with added sugars, so I decided to give these a try. br>br>I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least. These are tasty and can be used in place of rice if you're trying to avoid it. br>br>In addition, the quantity is good for the price, making them good value for money. br>br>Give it a shot; you won't regret it.
I use 1/2 cup of the flakes, milk, and frozen blueberries for a good flavor. My breakfast is ready after 2 minutes in the microwave.
The flavor is far superior to oatmeal. It has a nice hefty, nuttiness to it.
