I've never cooked with hulled barley before. What's your preferred method of preparation? Is it possible to make it in the microwave?

Stir one cup hulled barley into three cups boiling water, then reduce the heat to the lowest possible setting on the stove and cook for 90 minutes or more, or until the barley is relatively tender. Turmeric, curcumin, sat, and black pepper are some of my favorite spices and vegetables. oregano, diced onions, green peppers, mushrooms, garlic peas, and corn are some of the ingredients in this dish. It could save your life
5/5

Regardless of the numbers or what the doctors said, Husband was a true diabetic. Exhaustion, brain fog, and frequent urination were robbing me of the person I had married 34 years before. We began with a ketogenic diet, but found it to be too high in protein. One of our primary carbs is hulled barley. I cook it for 20 minutes and drain it, just like brown rice. I don't use the Instant Pot because the slow absorption is ruined by overcooking. As a substitute, I use it in sautéed onions and mushrooms or any rice/pasta dish.

We get up as soon as possible, put 1 1/2 cups of water on the stove to boil, add 1/2 cup of barley, cover, and reduce to low medium heat
5/5

Cook for 50–60 minutes at a low temperature. We will be ready when it is finished. We add warm roasted walnuts from our own walnut tree, chopped apples, and no sugar for the two of us, and it's plenty to keep us going for hours. We have a farm and do a lot of outdoor work, we're retired, and we love life. From time to time, we'll throw in some frozen berries.

It's a very large bag of barley
5/5

My local supermarket only carries pearled barley, which, according to my understanding, removes the majority (if not all) of the barley's beneficial fiber. I wanted barley with a high fiber content. This is what I thought when I saw it on Amazon: "A tenner!" I'm not sure how I'll use all that barley. "Well, I cook it in my instant pot with black beans, and every now and then I grind up a cup of barley and bake it into my bread. " It's a type of grain known as barley. It's not a magical item or anything flashy. It's just barley, and there's a lot of it, as promised. I would recommend this brand to anyone, and I will continue to buy it.

In comparison to the previous order, this one is quite different
3/5

I had previously placed an order for a 5 pound bag (photo). 2) It was enjoyable for me. However, I recently placed an order for a 10 pound bag (photo- 1) It's a completely different situation. In comparison to the 5lb order, it's a lot more raw and appears to be extremely difficult to cook. br>I had hoped for a consistent level of quality!.

Since I received it, I've been cooking it every day
5/5

It did/does everything it was advertised to do, and I highly recommend it. br>br>Every day, I make barley water in a large pot with a lot of water. This morning, I'm going to add dried vegetables, bay leaves, turmeric, black pepper, onion powder, amino acid, and dried shrimp before I finish.

Sugar detoxification The majority of my family is elderly and diabetic
5/5

We've started cutting back on sugar and increasing our intake of whole foods. grain foods because of the significant benefits of lower sugar intake on overall health, including reduced inflammation and out-of-control blood sugar levels. hulled barley is an excellent substitute for higher-inflammatory, higher-carbohydrate foods. Carbohydrate foods with high fiber content, such as potatoes and white rice, help the body deal with its carbohydrate content more effectively. I've got a lot of different stir-fries. strogonov and fry – Over barley, there are a lot of types of dishes that work really well. It's also a fantastic way to add nutrition to soups. It's yum yum yum yum yum.

I bought this stuff (Food to Live brand) about a week ago to try for the first time
4/5

It's tasty, a good alternative to rice and grits, but it's way too expensive (I think I paid $7). I wasn't sure I'd like it at 98 per pound (trying it for the first time). It's now $15, according to my latest check. 98! For only one pound! In less than a week! br>3 lbs will set you back $19. It costs the same to buy 5 pounds as it does to buy 3 pounds! The prices are absurd. The cost of ten pounds is $23. I think I'll go with size 48.

Barley that is perfect for milling, soups, and salads
5/5

I was determined to mill the flour for an otherwise complicated, ingredient-laden recipe because I own a flour mill. Ezekiel's bread is wise, to say the least. One of the main ingredients was hulled barley. However, I was unable to locate it in any of the local stores. It was here that I purchased it, and I'm glad I did. I can now use it in other recipes, such as soups and salads, now that I have it. br>br>The barley was delivered in good condition, with a long expiration date. I won't have to waste another bag to keep the grain contained thanks to the resealable bag. This isn't a big bag - it's about the size of a small bag. It's about two cups in size - However, since 1 cup of barley expands to 3 cups when cooked, it should suffice for most people.
