The package has no indication of where it came from. I'm not sure I'll put it to use. That information on Amazon's products should be mandatory.
I do, but there are no instructions on how to prepare or cook this package. 1 cup rinsed barley to 2 cups water or chicken broth is what I usually use. I cook for about 20 minutes. 30 minutes at medium heat, depending on how chewy you like it.
It's pearl barley, not oats, in this dish.
"Neither," I believe is the correct response. " When I'm making a gallon of vegetable soup, I pour about 3/4 cup straight from the bag into the pot. Soup with beef. By the time the vegetables are done (about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on how mushy you like them), the barley is perfect. I've never tried the barley in any other recipe or by itself, so I can't say how it would turn out.

Because I couldn't find any barley in my local stores, I ordered this pearl barley online. The barley was well-packaged and clean when it arrived. I used it to make a delicious beef barley soup in the slow cooker. Pearl barley is an old-fashioned product, and I believe that more people should try it and cook with it today.
I placed my order quickly, despite the fact that I had no way of knowing where the product (barley) came from. I was hoping to figure out where the barley came from once it arrived, but there's no information on the bag about where it was grown, and I can't find a website, so I won't be ordering again until the source of this food product is determined. I care a lot about where food comes from.
Because I couldn't find Pearl Barley at our local supermarket, I ordered it from Amazon. It's of good quality, cooks thoroughly, and tastes exactly as it should. Overall, it's an excellent product.
In soups and stews, barley is a fantastic grain. It can also be used to make desserts. It's also a warm cereal grain that I eat in the morning.
You get a lot for your money, and it will last for quite some time. I had no idea this was good for diabetics until I was looking for new side dishes for his meals, and this is perfect for him and very filling. I've also used it in soups and stews, and it's delicious. I've had regular barley before, but never like this, and I highly recommend it; you'll enjoy it.
In an automatic rice cooker, this pearled barely cooks up well. In addition to conventional rice, I combine it with a variety of other grains for a nice, slightly chewy texture. Simply add a little more water than usual to ensure that it cooks evenly with the rest of the grains. I just wish it was hulled barley so I could reap the fiber benefits. Good product that I would recommend to others and would buy again.
Where else should you look? This whole barley is by far the most beneficial. After hours of simmering on the stove or in the crock pot, it retains its shape. Whole barley is hard to come by in stores. They only sell cracked barley, based on my personal experience. br>I couldn't wait to try my barley in my vegetable-based soup when it arrived. beef- Soup made with barley The next day, I made it. I am completely satisfied. This bag of barley does not appear to be going to last long in my home. I know where to get the best barley now. br>Purchase it and see what you think. I'd never cooked or purchased barley before, so this was a new experience for me. In soups and other hot dishes! It had been fantastic- It was superior to pasta in that it kept you full for an extended period of time. As a result, instead of rice and pasta, I've been using it! Make sure it's cooked until it's fluffy and soft. That's how I prefer it to be! All of this is accompanied by beans and taco/hot spaghetti sauce!.
