A friend of mine described this umeboshi furikake as being "not sweet at all, and also a touch salty.". It is true that umeboshi (pickled plums) itself can be incredibly sour, but this Muso From Japan alternative has a much milder As a similar product, this is similar to the Muso From Japan's green seaweed furikake.

I don't think there is enough umeboshi flavor in this to use it as It was a bit disappointing, to be honest. If you get umeboshi furikake in Japan, you get the sourness of the dried plum and flavorful punch of the umami flavor. This one doesn't really have the same punch of umami flavor because its so heavily flavored with sesame seeds. I wouldn't recommend it if you're familiar with Japanese furikake flavors, however, if you're looking for a quick fix for some salty sesame umami, then definitely go for this.
bought these furikake to mix up the rice I'd been making for a few days and was pleasantly surprised to find they had umeboshi. Due to this, the primary ingredient in the mix is sesame. Even though other ingredients may be present, all I can taste is sesame from using This is a wonderful textural component for the design. I bought it for flavor, but I am disappointed as I bought it for the color. I would rate it as boring, but not terrible. To make this dish with sesame seeds, I could've just used the seeds I already had in my spice rack. That is the last time I will purchase this product.
It was a treat to find umeboshi flavored furikake, and I added it to my cart right away. I must have been sent a message saying "Oops!". There is only one version of the sesame seed hummus, so it tastes like sesame seeds alone. You can buy a tube of ume paste at your nearest Asian market or supermarket for a good umeboshi flavor to save your money.
In the future, if I were to buy this furikake brand again, I'd buy it from a large Asian store with a lot of turnover so I could be sure it was fresh. The products may have just been stored for too long in a warehouse. This is what I got * * *I bought 3 types of Muso From Japan You can make your own Yuzu, Umeboshi, and seaweed juice. Due to the fact that they are organic, I expected them to be fresh, flavorful, and of high quality. Despite their efforts, they fell short in every As a matter of fact, all of them tasted stale and indistinct. My.
Whenever Furikake is made, sesame flavors are always involved It tastes like sesame seed and nothing but sesame seed in this particular brand It is nearly impossible to tell that there is nori and ume. They have the same problem with their seaweed version In addition to tasting like seaweed, it also tastes just like seaweed. The flavors of other brands of furikake differ in some way beyond just seasame - whereas the other brands all have at least some overtone of the seasame flavor. You can find them at significantly lower prices as well.
I don't think it's good. It doesn't taste good to me because it has a bitter Several years ago, I had furikake that included ume in it, and I really liked the taste of the ume. So, I have been looking for furikake with ume ever since. Then there's this one, which is more bitter than the last.
The bottle is so good, I can eat it straight out of it. I like it because it is tasty. There isn't a single food I won't try it on. Play the complete game - My tastebuds have been changed forever thanks to this.
This is a fantastic furikake, thanks to the umeboshi's sour hint which lends you an umami flavour.
