Although it doesn't specify which kind of sugar is in it, I'm not sure since the ingredients (Sesame Seed, Salt, Sugar and Seaweed) have sugar in them.

As a vegan, they help me achieve the fishy taste I needed.
In my opinion, Hawaiian style popcorn should be more affordable, but I was unable to justify the price of the seasonings. It's a great way to get popcorn at a great price. They sent one to my daughter too, and they were also very happy with it. Besides the added flavor, I was pleased with the fact that it can be used as a seasoning for other dishes.
If you can find it in store, I suggest trying that first (Trader Joes). It won't work again if you got me once.
