Shortcake, not spongecake, is the best way to use this mix.
The density has increased. Why not just buy a box and see what happens?
I'm not sure if they can be deep fried or not. I'd expect them to crumble, but they're delicious when baked. I always add 3 tablespoons of sugar and a cup of dried cranberries to my cranberry sauce. In my microwave, I warm the cranberries in water, let them cool, and then add that water to the mix. There's a chance I'll throw in some white chips as well. On Amazon, it's a little pricey. I found them for $4 per box at my local Cub Food store. Enjoy!

I finally gave up after trying multiple recipes to recreate the scones I remembered eating at the Puyallup Fair when I was a kid. (Yes, I am a purist who insists on cooking everything from scratch. ) br>br>I'm so happy I did! Because I prefer larger scones, I usually divide the box into three batches rather than four. Each batch can be frozen and baked after thawing and cutting into four pieces. To get the best flavor from these, make sure you use high-quality jam or preserves. br>br>When I make the next batch, I'll experiment with different ingredients.
Yes, I know the final variation is made by the baker, but the directions say to fold the dough five times so it's layered more like a croissant. Everything is incorrect, or at the very least incorrect. The baking soda essence is also absent from the flavor. It's a fine dough blob or whatever you want to call it, but it's a terrible scone. I'm not sure why people think this is so good; I assume they don't have access to great scones.
This was something I used to have and enjoyed, but it was no longer available when I went to the grocery store. I figured it wouldn't be an issue. I tried the other kind (a "scone and muffin" mix) while I was there. I was sceptical at first, but it was the only option I had). This was a heinous act. In a nutshell, it's a scone. muffins in a variety of shapes There's a lot of sugar in this cake, and it's moist and crumbly. This isn't a scone-type of scone. as if from afar br>br>Thank goodness for Amazon and their ability to sell these. A 3- Because I only use half a box per batch, the pack is a great deal. You can't possibly go wrong with these. You knead the dough into scone shapes after adding water. That is all there is to it. And they turn out perfectly, lightly sweetened, firm, and ready for butter and jam (I was surprised when I posted about them on Facebook and almost all of my friends said they didn't understand the appeal of scones, believing them to be dry, brittle, and tasteless). They haven't had a chance to try them! )br>br>Amazon, please don't stop selling these scones; they're the best I've found this side of the Atlantic!.
I'm not sure what the big deal is with these. They are the blandest scones I've ever tasted. They have a flour-like flavor to them. It's not appealing in the least. No one wanted to eat them, which is the exact opposite of what happens when they vanish. Mrs. Patmore's (yes, Donwton merch) are, strangely enough, quite good, which surprised me as well.
This product has been in my possession for at least two decades! This product has been a part of my life for at least two decades! They remind me of the delicious scones I've had at the Washington Fair on numerous occasions! I add dried sour cherries, dried currants, or dried cranberries to the DRY mix and toss them in. Make the scones until they're done. So simple, with just a smidgeon of sweetness, unlike any other mix I've tried and will never buy again. REMEMBER NOT TO OVERMIX THE INGREDIENTS. as a result, your scones will be light and tender! I really hope they don't stop making them!.
From a dry mix, the flavor is much better than I anticipated. Because you must knead the dough on a floured surface, mixing is only a chore. In my large convection countertop over, they bake up nicely. Since the Pando deal, they've become less expensive. The scones can be frozen and still taste delicious. I'm at a loss for what to say. I couldn't find this combination anywhere in town. Try to get the three-pack for around ten dollars. To be clear, they call for cream, but I use half-and-half instead.
I've been buying this mix for a long time. If you're looking for a really good scone mix, you must try this one. I first bought it at a store in NC, but now that I've moved back to WY, I buy it online. This mix is perfect for making lavender scones. When I'm mixing it, I use about a tablespoon of culinary lavender buds, and if it needs to be sweeter, I add a little more sugar. Make sure it doesn't get too dark brown in the oven and pull it out when it's just done. The leftovers will stay fresher and softer in a plastic zip lock bag if you remove it as soon as it's baked. This is a fantastic product, and hopefully you'll always have some on hand in case of an unexpected visitor or simply to enjoy!.
I made two plain packs and a third pack with cherry bits and chocolate. Before adding the water, add the chips to the dry mix. Each of the three sets came out fantastically! I found that I needed to cook them for a few minutes longer (2 minutes) than the recipe called for, but that could have been due to my stove. They tasted great. I served them with Devonshire cream, jams, and lemon curd, and they received a lot of positive feedback.
