Based on my previous experience with Creole Dirty Rice, which I thoroughly enjoy, I purchased eight boxes of this mix. This isn't a Creole mix, and it's spiced to the maximum "HOT" level under the Cajun classification, in my opinion. You'll like this mix if you like things spicy (as in loaded with jalapeo). I've got an old ulcer to deal with, so I'm thinking of donating the seven remaining boxes to the local food bank after writing a warning on each one with a sharpie.
Normally, I prefer gumbo served over rice and cooked separately, but this is surprisingly delicious when served all at once. I'm from Texas and love Cajun food, so I'm picky when it comes to gumbo, and I wasn't expecting it to be this good. I added chopped onions, bell pepper, cooked chicken, and andoulle sausage to the mix. The longer it sits in the refrigerator, the better it is, so we prefer to cook ahead of time.
Tony makes dinner simple, but it appears and tastes as if you spent all day preparing it. Cook the meat of your choice in a pot with water and the packet, then reduce to a low heat. I can make everything in one pot and appear to be a master chef.
Tony's seasonings and box dinners have been a staple in my kitchen for many years. They've vanished from my local supermarkets for some reason. And, of course, I found it on Amazon, as I have been a long-time Amazon shopper. This item arrived in a timely manner, was in perfect condition, and was not out of date. Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love I tried a healthier version with turkey meat instead of ground beef and chick peas, and it was fantastic.

It's delicious on its own, or you can add meat, onions, bell pepper, okra, tomatoes, and beans to make it more filling.
cook. This is something my husband really enjoys, but I haven't been able to locate it in our area. It's simple to prepare; all you need to do is add the sausage. And the fact that it comes in a set of four makes it even better.
