I doubt I'd want to cook 36 snails at once, and it appears that all three dozen are in one canhow did other customers deal with this problem?

Yes! We cook 6 or 12 snails at a time, then refrigerate the rest of the week's supply if we plan to eat them for different meals. But most of the time, we only cook 12 at a time and then freeze the rest in Ziploc bags in batches of 12 in the freezer. Then simply take it out, thaw it out, and cook it.

Do you eat them right out of the shell?

They don't come with a shell, so you'll have to find empty shells or use one of these special escargot dishes to prepare them.

Is the weight in pounds dry or wet?

The snails had a metallic flavor even after being slightly cooked in beef broth for 45 minutes

After that, I tried making traditional garlic butter, but it still tasted like the metal can. I wish they had done a better job with the packaging.

Ammonia smells and tastes like a chemical

I placed an order for two cans. When I first opened it, I was greeted by a strong chemical odor. The liquid was a dark brown color and had a foul odor. I tried cooking them in butter and garlic after rinsing them several times. No way! The chemical flavor lingered far too long. I threw it all away. I opened the second can, thinking it might have been the first that had gone bad. Nope. It ended up in the trash, just like the first.

Quite bleak

sizes that vary Not as good as some of the other places I've visited. br>It's a great deal, but it's not for me. The grit was awful, and the sizes weren't even close to being consistent. As a result, cooking evenly is difficult.

These were the star of the show, with a fantastic earthy flavor and a mushroom-like texture. such as texture- Many people commented on how great it was to find these mixed in with the rice, and I plan to buy them again.
