They're white cherries, to be precise.
These are used in a special Christmas dish that we only make once a year. I used to keep unopened cans for at least a year when I could find them locally. I was able to get them here for a good price, so I bought two years' worth.
The serving size is 1/2 cup (each can contains three servings). There are 120 calories in half a cup. I drain the syrup and figure that eating the cherries alone will save me calories. They're absolutely delicious, and you can get them on Amazon for less money than you can get them at the store.
Now, unlike the other two answers, I'm going to get a little more technical. I receive standard cans from Oregon Fruit that are slightly longer than 4 3/8 inches (approx. Over by 1/32" A Progresso Soup can is approximately 4" tall, while a Campbell's Soup can is approximately 4" tall. the Cherries are the same. It will be tight if you try to fit it onto a shelf with a 4 1/2" space, but it should work.

We had a Royal Anne cherry tree in our yard when I was growing up, and we would eat as many as we could when they were ripe, but my mother would can the majority of them so we could enjoy them all year. These canned cherries have the same flavor as the ones I used to eat as a kid. I can't express how grateful I am that you made these available so that I could relive some of my favorite childhood memories. I prefer Royal Anne Cherries to any other variety (though Rainier Cherries are a close second). ) I was ecstatic when I had another chance to try them. It's also of such high quality. Canning cherries are difficult to come by for some reason. It's even more difficult to find Royal Anne. Thank you for having such delicious canned cherries, Oregon Fruit!.
I had assumed it was no longer available, but I decided to look for it on the Internet recently. I put off ordering it for several months due to my dissatisfaction with the $4 per can price, but I'm not getting any younger, so I took the risk! The flavor was exactly the same as I remembered! So, as long as my circumstances allow, I'm going to eat about 4 cans per year until I die! Yum!.
It was great how quickly it arrived. br>I've tried this product before and it's always been a pleasure. br>I'm not sure the criteria listed above are relevant: The flavor is unquestionably a five, but what does "thickness" imply? For the love of God, this is pitted cherries in syrup. It's not thick, and it shouldn't be. br>And "warmth" isn't much better - When I get it, it's room temperature (well, after it warms up a little inside in the winter, of course), but I eat it cold. It doesn't have any inherent properties that could be described as "warmth. " br>I'm not sure if these categories were chosen at random or if they were meant to be there.
The tart cherries in water are one of our favorites. This is my go-to for pies and tarts, as well as Oregon blueberries, but these cherries are terrible. They're overly sweet and bland. I was in a bad mood. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the remaining cans. I'm not going to buy any more of these. My family had no idea what kind of fruit it was. They didn't have much flavor. It's a real pain. Every other fruit I've purchased from Oregon Fruit, on the other hand, I can highly recommend. And I've tried them all at this point. For us, this was the only time we had a failure.
I make my grandmother's fruit salad with these light cherries throughout the year for holidays. They've become increasingly difficult to come by in recent years, and I was missing my salad this Christmas when I couldn't find any. I was doing some research online and came across Oregon fruits, which led me to Amazon to buy them. The cherries, along with other fruits, form the foundation for a delicious fruit salad topped with a cooked sauce, whipped cream, and mini marshmellows; the cherries are everyone's favorite ingredient. br>br>The recipe calls for a homemade salad dressing, whipped cream, a variety of fruits, and mini marshmallows, which are then chilled for 24 hours before serving, hence the name "Grandma B's 24 hour fruit salad. " You should try this festive fruit salad for yourself; it's delicious. mmm good! The dressing is made with common household ingredients and takes only 5 to 10 minutes to prepare; the rest is simple: drain the fruit, whip the cream, and fold in all of the ingredients, cover, and refrigerate overnight. A separate post will be made with the recipe.
They're fantastic. You can serve them with lettuce and cottage cheese. I add them to fruit salads or eat them straight from the can. I can't find them locally, so I'll have to order them. They're sweet and have a lot of flavor. Thank you, Amazon, for making them available for purchase.
Because I can't find these in my local stores, I order them from Amazon. We have a traditional fruit salad that even the grandchildren have requested the recipe for in order to continue the tradition. Everyone raves about the recipe, so I'll have to make these because nothing else will suffice. Thank you, Amazon, for providing these.
I'll need these for a recipe during the holidays, so the box of eight is ideal. For the past several years, I have been unable to locate them in stores. In a 24-hour fruit salad, this would be fantastic.
