I have a hard time finding this item locally, and when I do, it costs nearly twice as much as what I paid through This bean is one of my favorite ingredients and I use it frequently in.
Our family loves these because they are tasty, creamy, and filling. Cannellini Beans from Progresso are an essential part of our diets, whether they're used in soup, stew, or even cold on salads.
There is no damage to the cans. The expiration date has not passed. When buying generic brands, I usually get a cheaper price. White beans are one of my favorite foods. They were not my cup of tea, however. The taste of the product makes me unlikely to buy again.
This seems a little weird considering that these are Progresso beans, but, in fact, some of them (and I have tried a few different cans from the order) have very hard skins. Most of the nuts I have tasted have been solid. A few in each can I've tried have been normal, but most are rock hard. In the past I've had cans of Cannellini Beans, maybe even from Progresso or other companies, which are quite normal, not mushy, but made to the desired You can cook 'em longer so they become hard, but not hard like nuts.
Beans of good quality. As a result of my hatred of red beans, red beans are used in chili.
The item is smaller than shown in the picture. The white chicken chilli I made for 2 people took 2 cans of sauce.
There are nice products from Progresso the bean is creamy and great for pasta and polenta, and it might work well in a soup, too. You need to be vegetarian if you are You can soak some dried mushrooms in hot water first, then add these beans to soup with celery, onion and garlic, follow this with some pasta and a very small amount of salt or soy sauce, and you've got a good.
Soups have a great taste.
