I was very satisfied with the product. Each can we received was broken, some to the point that they were not able to open them. There is no refund I am asking for. There would be no need for the damaged cans to be hidden from you. The chances of every single file being damaged accidentally are far too small. Each of the cans that were sent to us was intentionally damaged.

There have been reports that the cans are dented in other reviews. The only way I could make it work is to take the chance since I'm no longer in the South. At first, I thought they were just inconvenient for storing until my mom told me that bacteria had an easier time getting in since it's more difficult to ensure that they are safe. My heart swells when I think about I know that I live in the upper midwest, and purple hull peas are unlikely to be found here. While fresh or frozen is my preferred route for purple hull, canned will do when I want to satisfy my craving for purple hulls. )** "These are good!". There is no mush in the peas. I found the salt to be a little overpowering but not too much so that it rendered it unpalatable. In light of my experience, I would buy them again.

Having found these on Amazon, I was glad to discover they are more delicious than black eyed peas, although they are very similar in taste and texture to good black eyed peas. This is one of the best varieties of cow peas (they are in fact all beans), and I love the taste. They are my new go-to recipe for black eyed peas ever since my 87-year-old southern mom approved. She had seconds, so I've got my money on these!.

While I was growing up on a farm in Arkansas I picked purple hulls for money and even operated a utah tractor When I was in junior high and high school, I picked patches. They are of the same quality as the ones I grew and canned by my mother. On top of that, they are the most gentle on the digestive system of all dried I recommend this product highly, but be advised that to fully experience the powerful southern flavors, the peas need to be cooked for a bit with bacon drippings and jalapenos added, You won't have to worry about the fat since fiber neutralizes it. There is a wink wink nudge nudge followed by an LOL, of course.

I used to be able to readily purchase these beans at my neighborhood market when I lived in Texas. The market I used to get them at was no longer available since I moved. Amazon has them and I am very happy to find them. The black eye peas are certain to be appealing to those who like them. There were two damage cans in the shipment, which is disappointing to me. Having two cans of beans to haggle about doesn't appeal to me at all.

The family my wife comes from has closely tied ties with farming, cultivating Purple Hull Peas so that they can sell them. It was in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky that I was born. It seems that most local grocery stores are no longer stocking these peas that we have eaten our entire lives. I appreciate the fact that this product is now on Amazon, like many other products that have been completely replaced by products from other countries.
