We have been buying these since I was a child and I'm really disappointed when the company discontinues them. My daughter just opened this can (I bought a case for her) and I must say it is a complete mess the taste is wrong, the size of the vegetables are wrong, and the texture is horribly unpleasant. It took me a while to pull them out because they were in pieces. These are terrible no matter what they changed and I am never going to be able to buy these with this recipe. Despite my daughter's refusal, I have a whole case now because I thought they would be the same as ones I had purchased previously for her (just finished the last can from the previous case on Wednesday. As far as I am concerned, these are terrible and I will not buy them again until they return to the original recipe that has worked for as long as I can remember (I'm 40).
I usually cut up a single link in half longways and microwave the pieces for about a minute apiece until they begin to shrivel. In my microwave, I microwave them for 1 1/2 minutes and pour them onto a slice of whole wheat bread. I top steamed rice with either horse relish or a slice of vidalia onion to make a healthy and delicious snack or lunch. If you cut two longways and microwave them, they fill a whole slice of bread nicely and can be topped with lettuce tomato and mayo for a healthy alternative to the One more choice that can be used in place of beef jerky sticks is a reconstituted link left whole and microwaved until it starts to brown, about 2 minutes in my microwave.
I would like to start by saying that the item has its own flavor, it is not bland and does not have to be completely There is a meaty taste similar to a hot dog (not like sausage), and it has a great texture. There is a texture to the surface. The texture is softer, and the link is smaller than in the SuperLink from the same manufacturer. I've cooked them in hotdogs (I cook them first in a pan with some olive oil, ketchup, and 1/2 teaspoon of Bragg's liquid aminos) and in black beans with rice and it gave them a very good meaty texture and flavor. It was a good substitute for meat for a few of my meat eating friends and they have all said they will.
Despite my advanced age, I am still in love with It doesn't matter how hot or how cold it is. It has a great taste!.
If you cook the hotdog and put it in a bun with the fixings on top, you wouldn't have a hard time fooling a guest into thinking this is just a meat hotdog. Although I like Franks, I do not eat them on a frequent basis recommended by my doctor. The beef franks are very similar to these, so I can eat them every day if I like.
Veggie hot dogs that can be stored on the shelf. They were a hit at a picnic at which there would be many vegetarians present, and everyone raved about them. The convenient thing about them is that they won't need refrigeration so will last a long time.
The problem is that soy isn't very good as a sub meat. The only problem is, I crave hot dogs, and these do help. In the past, I was able to obtain a MUCH BETTER version from Seiten, but I am no longer able to find it.
This has been one of our favorite products for Besides "hot dogs and chili" and different kinds of sandwiches, we also make different kinds of sandwich wraps.
