Questions & Answers
There are 8 "dogs" in each of the 12 cans.
These are something I've eaten my entire life, and yes, they can be frozen. To aid in preservation, make sure the franks are immersed and frozen in the juices from the can. They will retain their original flavor when thawed.
I've tried both, but Big Franks is my favorite. Each has its own distinct flavor profile; neither tastes like a meat hot dog, but they are both delicious. The texture of Big Franks is smoother. I enjoy them fried, but I also enjoy them straight from the can. I eat meat as well, and I prefer a Big Frank to a Kosher Beef hot dog (or any real hot dog for that matter).

The true struggle with Big Franks is defending the open can against all the vultures! ) These vegetarian hot dogs are a hit with the whole family! br>br>Finding Big Franks on Subscribe br>br>Finding Big Franks on Subscribe br>br>Finding Big Save sealed the deal, and we now have a one-can-per-week ration for the rest of the year! br>br>However, the dented cans hidden in the middle of the 12 pack with ZERO issues with the external packaging lead us to believe that they are offloading their defective dented merchandise for a premium. We've had the same problem with this vendor's shipment of 12 chili cans. br>br>For the March 2020 shipment, three of our twelve cans were dented.
This is a product that I adore and would happily eat until the day I die! br>br>However, something needs to be done about the price; when a case of 12 cost $60-$70, they were affordable (though still not cheap). 70 range. When I first purchased these through Amazon's Subscribe and Save program, the cost was around $52. However, at the current Amazon price, I am unable to continue purchasing this product. I believe the real culprit is the manufacturer. How can making soy protein and spice links and putting them in a tin can be so expensive? Unfortunately, I am no longer a customer until the price is reduced.
When I first tried one of these, I almost spat it out as I reached for the can to re-eat it. pay attention to the label I haven't eaten meat in a long time, but this sure did taste like it. As I recall, there were dogs. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal once I was assured that they were vegetarian. It's simple to make and great to have on hand in the pantry.
For the past 45 years or so, my husband and I have both been vegetarians. My hot dogs were traditionally made with firm tofu and a variety of spices. These Big Franks are out of this world! I had no idea the green and red cans were different. I discovered the truth! The green can ones were a big no-no for both of us. They have a low fat content. The two have vastly different flavors. We finished the green cans and went out to buy a case of red cans. Anyone, vegetarian or not, would benefit from these.
which, according to some critics, isn't all that great. It's delicious, in my opinion. ) Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever That is, in my opinion, the worst way to serve them because the water dilutes their flavor. They're great as hotdogs on a bun with all the fixings, or you can use them in casseroles, sauerkraut, or any other dish that calls for a bratwurst or regular hotdog. br>br>As a vegetarian, I'm not sure why anyone would prefer to eat real hotdogs (especially knowing what goes into them - see below). YUK! ) These are a healthy and delicious alternative that you won't feel bad about! My only issue is that I can't seem to locate them. This used to be on Amazon's subscription list, but they don't appear to be carrying them anymore, and the other suppliers charge WAY TOO MUCH for them. What do you think, Amazon? Is it possible to reintroduce these on a subscription basis?.
I love these because I can now have a hotdog whenever I want. Vegan cheese, onion, pickle relish, barbecue sauce, and a hot dog bun make for a delectable combination. Man, it's making my mouth water just thinking about it. Oh, and I started by sautéing the onions in butter (vegan butter, earth balance) and they were delicious.
These veggie franks are delicious. I'm sorry for contaminating my body with Morning Star and other factory-made veggie dogs. I've discovered that drying them with a paper towel before placing them in a preheated skillet with hot olive oil and cooking on all sides is the best way to prepare them. They're mostly used to make chili cheese dogs for me.
I'm pretty sure I've been eating Loma Linda Big Franks for the past 30 years. While I can't think of another canned product for which I can sing praises, I must admit that I have a weakness for these franks. They were my first discovery in a Honolulu health food store. Actually, I believe that's the only time I've ever seen them. When I moved away from Hawaii, I used to look in the local stores in my new town for Loma Linda Franks cans. Years passed without any results. Finally, I went to Amazon to see what they had to offer. com (as well as everything else that seemed to be available). Eureka! I now buy Loma Linda Big Franks in bulk from Amazon. They were supposed to be my little vegetarian delight until my non-vegetarian wife began stealing them. Then she gave a can to a friend who wasn't a vegetarian, either! Everyone's tastes are different, so I can't speak for everyone, but I can say that these dogs have me hooked.
