It arrives in a styrofoam cooler with dry ice inside; I ordered two-day shipping and there was still some dry ice left when I received it.
They're small strips, and there are a lot of them, but I'm not sure how many there are. If you serve it with a side salad or other sides, it will serve two people. I ate the entire box, but it was my only source of nutrition. They are delicious and bake up nicely in the oven. They come highly recommended.

These are like a throwback, reminding me so much of Howard Johnson's fried clam strips, which I used to love as a kid. They can be fried or baked. However, as with any other clam strips, don't overcook them. Cook them if you don't want them to become tough and rubbery. br>br>In terms of taste and flavor, they're fantastic! In fact, I recently tried Red Lobster's Admiral's Meal, and I have to say, these are far superior. br>br>I will say, however, that delivery can be difficult. I ordered three of these the first time, but only got two. They reshipped another box, but because they don't provide a delivery date, it sat in my building's lobby for three days baking in the sun before I even realized it had arrived. They arrived four days ahead of schedule on my second order, which was fantastic unless I happened to be away at the time. Fortunately, I wasn't one of them. When ordering these, keep a close eye on your order page because you may not receive a delivery notification in the app.
I'm comparing Gorton's and Sea Pack frozen clam strips to Sea Best's because they're both available in Hawaii. Approximately 10 of the pieces were missing clams in the middle of the middle of the middle of the middle of the middle of the middle of the middle of the mi Maybe it was a bad batch, or maybe it was the last of the day's packaging. They were, however, delicious and on par with Gorton's and Sea Pack's. I was blown away by how well they arrived in a Styrofoam container with plenty of dry ice left over, giving me the confidence to try other frozen treats.
I read a lot of reviews before buying this product because I'm from New England, and one thing I miss since moving away are all the great little clam shacks along the CT shoreline, which many people said reminded them of/tasted like the fried clams Howard Johnson's (HJ) used to serve. So I figured, what the heck, I'll give them a shot. I used to work in a HJ kitchen when I was younger. I worked at the fried clam station and did nothing else - Clams that have been fried. The fried clams HJ served back then are nothing like these Sea Best clams. They weren't particularly impressive - Take care not to overdo it. They need to be baked because they become very dry. I did them that way first, then fried them the next time, and they tasted even better deep-fried. What doesn't taste good when it's fried? br>br>However, I wish Amazon could come up with a way to reduce the size of the packaging. One colossal box, and one colossal foam cooler inside of it. All of this for a mere ten ounces. Clams in a box. I ordered breaded shrimp, and they arrived in the same manner, so I had two of these massive non-vegetarian shrimp. To deal with, you'll need to deal with recyclable foam coolers. I understand that they must be kept frozen, but couldn't the coolers at the very least be a little smaller? br>br>I'm no longer going to buy frozen seafood from Amazon. What a waste of paper and cardboard. All of Amazon's ads about going green are a complete waste of money. Yes, that is correct.
- Next-day delivery It was hot when it arrived. Despite the fact that the shipment was packed with 3/4" of Styrofoam, there was no dry ice left in the included bag, the interior of the box was room temperature, and the product cartons were damp; the shipment time to delivery (when I was present and unpacked immediately) was less than 48 hours, and the box sat on the UPS truck all day before arriving at my doorstep. br>A cross-section of a cross-section of a cross-section of a A second bag of dry ice should be brought on the trip, and a moisture barrier around the product cartons is required, in my opinion. br>I had such high expectations for this and was heartbroken to have to throw away good food; due to a lack of frozen carbon dioxide?.
These aren't the best, but they're still enjoyable. My lesson was not solely focused on this product; I believe SeaBest does an excellent job. Unfortunately, clams, lobster, and shrimp are among my favorite foods. I'm sure you understand. Many of us are realizing that we have polluted the oceans, making seafood of any kind suspect at best and probably unhealthy overall. br>br>When I cook these clams to perfection, I am reminded of my HoJo's days and their amazing fried clam strips. By going under or over-the-top, you can sway a little in either direction. You've got a problem when it comes to cooking. br>br>This, combined with my growing sensitivity to processed foods, pesticides, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs), means I'm only able to tolerate them. br>br>However, I believe the SeaBest clams are among the best available today. In addition, their customer service is outstanding.
Where I live, the only frozen fried clam strips available are Seapack clam strips, which I have tried. These are a little better, but they're twice the price, and they're still quite tasty. Although the instructions only call for deep frying and pan frying, I cooked mine in the oven and they turned out beautifully. Preheat oven to 400°F and bake for 20 minutes, turning halfway.
Okay, the first time I got these, they were completely unfrozen and a mushy mess. I assume they were in a regular box with a frozen ice pack. The order was resent to me by Amazon, and it arrived frozen. So, just to be safe, we immediately cooked them. I just didn't think the breading had enough flavor. Unfortunately, I would not order them again, but they were edible, and the clams themselves had a standard flavor.
These clams were incredibly delicious. I got these for $5 because they were on sale. They've been reduced to $8. I'd buy them even if they were 31. Because I am confined to my home, having these delivered to my doorstep is a godsend. This is a treat I'm willing to buy for myself because the price is comparable to a restaurant meal to me. Also, my box of clams came pre-coated in oil (I'm not sure why other Sea Best breaded seafood doesn't), so all I had to do was pop them into a 400° oven for 10 minutes or more, depending on how crispy I wanted them.
