Questions & Answers

Can this product be used for an extended period of time?

Because it is a frozen item, it will last for at least 6 months.

Is it possible to cook the spinach in its bag in the microwave?

Please don't make that mistake! It's not that kind of product; you'd risk starting a fire, with melted plastic and sloppy spinach all over the place to clean up. If you're in a rush for dinner, toss it in a pan with olive oil and cook it for a few minutes on medium heat while your other food safely microwaves!

What is the procedure for returning this item to Amazon Fresh?

If you sign into your account and click on Amazon Fresh Delivery Items, you should see a return option. If not, click on the specific item and you should see a return option. If all else fails, simply call Amazon and request a return.

Is this something that can be used in a smoothie?

When I don't have fresh spinach on hand, I use this in my smoothies. It's fantastic!

There are a plethora of stems to choose from! This is the first time I've bought this brand of spinach, and I'm pretty sure I won't buy it again
3/5

I'm guessing 1/4 to 1/3 of the volume was stems, which astounds me. There were also a lot of brown spinach clumps that I had to discard. I buy other 365 products on a regular basis and enjoy them, so I'm not sure what's up with this one. I've never seen so many stems in a product before, and the rest will be returned.

Mixed stems and leaves at the bottom of the bin
3/5

The bag was full of spinach stems, some of which were very woody, and spinach leaves, which was a very disappointing product. When compared to other frozen leaf spinach vendors' frozen leaf spinach at the same price, this vendor's frozen leaf spinach is of very poor quality.

dreadful - stems and a few brown plant trash pieces For years, I've been ordering 365 organic frozen spinach - However, I've never seen it quite like this before
3/5

It was almost entirely stems, with a few brown pieces that I'm hoping were bad spinach leaves rather than something more noxious. To make matters worse, I had to pay $9 for the privilege. 95 for three bags of this subpar spinach and a few other items to be delivered. If Amazon wants to charge a high delivery fee, they'll have to step up their game. I'd also like it if they didn't list items as "in stock" only to have them disappear as soon as you place your order. This item is no longer available. There are a lot of reasons to be frustrated.

There was never a complete leaf found; mainly stems Take a look somewhere else
3/5

It's up to you to decide whether $2 and change is good value; for me, frozen vegetables are a lifesaver because I don't get to my fresh produce in time before it spoils. However, you should avoid this product because I've never seen a full, uncut leaf in my year-long experience with it. plus a slew of failed attempts to purchase it! It's almost entirely stems and has nothing to do with the product's name.

Don't waste your time with this spinach; it's nearly inedible
3/5

Unless you enjoy stems, this is not a worthwhile purchase. I usually get the chopped spinach, which is good, but this was all they had when I couldn't get to the store one week and ordered on Amazon. I finally tossed half a bag of this whole spinach out last week after it sat in my fridge for a few months while I bought and used the chopped stuff. I despise wasting food and rarely do so, but this stuff was extremely unpleasant to eat due to the woody stems and old/leathery leaves. It might work in a long-cook soup, but it's a waste of money for less-than-mushy applications.

Umm
3/5

I usually make a smoothie with spinach and/or kale, but today's smoothie didn't blend as well (I only used spinach). I wasn't sure why until I opened the lid and noticed that the spinach wasn't breaking down as quickly as it usually did. This is what it looked like when I took it out (I washed it off to get the smoothie off of it). I pulled a few and it had an elasticity that spinach shouldn't have, so I wouldn't buy it again. I don't think it's a good idea.

It's nearly as good as fresh when it comes to cooking
5/5

I've never been a fan of frozen spinach until now. I use the leaves in the same way I use fresh spinach at the end of a stirfry. It cooks quickly but doesn't turn to mush. Several reviews were critical of the stem content, which I noticed. I consider the entire leaf, including the stem, to be a single unit. The stems are nutritive and appear to aid in maintaining the product's texture.

Leaf spinach of excellent quality
4/5

This is a good frozen leaf spinach, but every now and then I get a bag with more stems than spinach leaves, which is why I only gave it four stars.
