I didn't give it five stars because it has a lot of calories for such a small pot pie, but it's thick enough to keep you full and prevent you from snacking. It's delicious. The flavor is incredible. My mother's cooking comes to mind when I think of this dish. Although it does not require salt, it does contain a significant amount of sodium. It's a great deal for my money with Amazon Fresh. The good outweighs the minor drawbacks.
These are the same pot pies that we used to buy for a dollar in the 1950s and 1960s. I used to be able to snack on three or four of them. They're still good for late-night munchies. br>br>While the microwave does not do them justice, baking them in a conventional oven results in a crust that is identical to that of the old aluminum pans.
Pain in the buttocks to make, I bought a few of these for quick microwave meals but they often break apart or don't cook all the way through, so you end up microwaving them for an extra 2 minutes or so just to get them warm enough to eat. br>br>They do taste good in my opinion but they're a bit of a hassle / lengthy time to prepare.
If you want my best advice, stab the pies directly with a fork and knife multiple times to make heating%.
Pot pie fix: I adore pot pies and purchased a variety of flavors from Fresh to try. I cooked them in an air fryer. For the price, it's not too bad.
When you're looking for a quick bite to eat, this is the dish for you. The flaky crust is fantastic, and I like to serve them with a side of thick Progresso soup, which adds more meat and gravy to make a more substantial meal.
There isn't nearly as much flavor as there was previously. The best way to cook them is in the oven; I used the microwave, which could explain why it didn't have the same delicious flavor as I remembered. Not bad for the price! I'm going to buy a few more, but this time I'm not going to nuke them!.
It was exactly what I had hoped for. I was expecting something similar. It's easy to make (I used a toaster oven), cheap, and the crust is delicious; it's a great quick lunch item. Expect mediocre flavor, but it's a good trade-off for the convenience.
Delicious, but 7 ounces of food isn't enough for a full meal, and it's awkward to add vegetables to a meal that already contains vegetables. This will suffice with two of these.
