Selected User Reviews For Buitoni Pesto with Basil, Refrigerated Basil Sauce, 7 oz Tub
I carefully read the ingredients and looked through the photos for a nut-free recipe. The pesto I received was free, but it was a walnut pesto (despite the fact that it wasn't clearly labeled as such). This could've been a very unpleasant surprise if I hadn't checked before eating it because of an Amazon product listing that was completely inaccurate. Please be aware that the item you will receive may differ from what is listed here.
Along with the basil, it has a nice Parmesan and pine nut flavor. Although I prefer making my own pesto, this is a close second. It's a little pricey, but in my opinion, it's well worth it. It's not overly bitter or medicinal-tasting, as some pestos can be, and the flavor is well-balanced. br>br>Also, in response to another review, the front of the container states that it is made with pine nuts and walnuts, which is visible in the first picture on the listing, so if you have a nut allergy, don't buy.
You've got to admire it. Even if the price rises as a result of your high demand. On America's Test Kitchen, I saw this winning the test. Had been purchasing products that did not require refrigeration and had a long shelf life, were overly salty, and were a heartbreaker. When I switched to this one, I discovered that; It's incredibly flavorful, but it's missing the Genoa region's added Parmesan kick and my favorite garlic ingredients. Nonetheless, I have garlic and a good cheese blend to satisfy my picky palate. And, as the creator demands, that is the whole truth.
Wow! I usually make my own pesto, but this works well as a stand-in. You'll find all of the flavors you're looking for. It's a little thicker than I prefer, but a small amount goes a long way.
It has a creamy consistency and a pesto flavor, similar to Alfredo sauce. It's not worth the trouble.
He claims it tastes very similar to what he would get in a good restaurant. Pesto is simple to make on my own, but when I'm in a hurry and don't want to go the extra mile, this is the Pesto I make for my husband!.
I'm too lazy to make my own pesto, and this one does the trick; it's not bitter like Blue Moose, and it's not nasty like some jarred pestos (I've tried a lot, and they're all terrible). This dish is light and refreshing, and it goes well with pasta or a caprese wrap or salad. Love it. I've ordered it from Fresh several times, and I especially enjoy it when it's on sale.
The basil flavor is very nice. This is the pesto to make if you want a well-balanced flavor.
