How Our Score Is Calculated
Product Description
Bucatini straws, artisan Italian pasta straws from Abruzzo, in 500 gram pack (17. (6 oz. each)
Bucatini is a type of pasta that has a small hole in the middle and is usually served with a buttery sauce.
Pastificio Masciarelli (est. 1867) is one of Italy's oldest family pasta producers, with its headquarters in the small Abruzzo mountain village of Pratola Peligna.
The ingredients are simple : 100% durum wheat (high in protein) and pure spring water from the waters of the surrounding Majella National Park; and nothing else; and nothing else
Bronze dyes and slow drying create a rough texture that allows sauce to cling to this extraordinary product; if you've ever wondered why sauce just slides off regular industrial pasta, this is why; it has nothing to cling to.
Questions & Answers
I take it this isn't suitable for vegans?
It's Vegetarian. It's spaghetti with a hole in the middle, making it look like a straw. More fun to eat because it's a little thicker in diameter.
Are these pasta straws the same as those found in Italy? I had a lot of fun with them over there, and I'd like to order more! ?
Yes, these are pasta straws from a different country.

However, it is expensive

It had a great flavor. The only issue was that the shipping cost was equal to the cost of the pastas; perhaps if I had lived in Italy, I would have paid almost anything to have it delivered here. Mrs. Darlington's lemon curd from the United Kingdom does the same thing for me.
