They're made with real licorice root; I'm not sure about the ingredient balance, but it's a good product.

Gimbals Scotties are something I've bought a lot of. This is an excellent candy. It has a good flavor and is gluten-free. br>br>However, the seller is likely to be the source of the problem this time. Scotties were delivered in a zip lock bag rather than in their original packaging. There are no manufacturer's labels (nutrition information, etc. ) on the zip-lock bag, and the zip-lock bag does not have a secondary seal. lock bag. " brand new pound bag" There was no invoice, and there was no mention of GIMBAL'S! I'm not sure who made them or where they came from. They were NOT in the FACTORY SEALED Gimbal's bag, as ordered and described. For SECURITY REASONS, I did not open the bag or eat them.
Blah! For the past 5 years, I've been purchasing these. They used to be my favorite, but Gimbols was purchased by another company, and now they taste like jelly beans. licorice isn't a word that comes to mind when thinking of licor I'm in a terrible mood right now. I'm not sure where I'll be able to find gluten-free licorice with the same flavor. as if they were my Scottie dogs.
Mine had already been spoiled by the time it arrived. I believe I was the victim of bad fortune. I had bought a small bag of these candies for about $6 for a tiny bag, so I was looking for a more cost-effective way to re-sell them. they should be purchased The first (small) bag was fantastic. These are fantastic candies if you like licorice (whether or not you can eat gluten). However, here's why I only gave it one star: My 5-pound bag was no longer edible. The candy had a sour taste to it, as if it had been spoiled. I'd also like to point out that this 5-pound bag is described as being simple to reseal. Hardly! You must cut it open with scissors and then cover it with a large plastic band, securing it as tightly as possible. (However, this isn't the reason they tasted spoiled. ) They were spoiled from the beginning). br>Keep in mind that you won't be able to return these in most cases. I received inedible candy from Amazon, and they refunded my money, but I wouldn't count on it. br>Having said that, everyone else appears to have received candy that was fresh and undamaged, so it appears that I was one of the few people who received a spoiled bag, as I previously stated.
The scotties were apparently sold to Jellybelly, according to one retailer. All I can say is that they taste awful in comparison to the original (which was difficult to put down). I assumed it was baloney, so I bought these, which taste exactly the same. There isn't much licorice flavor in this, and it's pretty plain. I'm very disappointed and upset.

The candy is kept in a foil bag that has been sealed. br>My candy is brand new. delectable I require gluten-free products. I bought in bulk because it was free vegan candy that is normally expensive. It'll be good for a couple of months. I try to limit myself to six per day. The candy has a strong flavor; I'm happy with it and plan to buy it again. br>br>Update 2020: A new company is no longer producing them; they appear to be too sweet and softer. I was so let down. Jelly Beans are a better analogy. The new packaging consisted of a clear plastic bag with no ingredient information. br>I threw this out because I didn't feel safe eating it.
The flavor is unlike any other, and I keep a container in my car for when I'm craving something sweet. They're tasty, and 5 pounds of them will last you a long time. They were packaged as the picture shows and arrived on time. I love licorice, but must live 100% gluten-free due to necessity must live 100% gluten-free due to necess I can't have the genuine article because it is free. To be fair, they don't have the texture of real licorice; instead, they're more like gummy shaped things with a licorice jelly bean texture (but no shell). My husband, who can eat the real thing, adores these, and I expect him to eat the majority of them! I've found a few products that taste more like licorice than these, but they're still great, and if you don't mind the taste of say. a bear made of cinnamon You'll love them because they're only black licorice.
