As a result of the quality ingredients, I had high expectations for this panettoni. Although it is lighter, softer, and chewier than any panettone I've had, it is dense, almost chewy, and gummy, as if it hadn't been baked properly or allowed enough time to rise. There was a strange taste to the food, a little off. One thing to remember is that it is half the size of other panettone brands, 500g as opposed to a kilo, and is also the same price. A gift of two panettones was ordered. In lieu of a box, they arrived in a bubblemailing envelope, and the beautiful wrapping paper on the Panettones had numerous creased lines Presenting a gift in this way isn't the best idea. In fact, I did pass one of the Panettones along to a friend and was told it was delicious despite a large dent on one side. If I had received it properly mailed I would have given five stars.

The $4 version tasted just as good and was just as fresh as the $8 version. Prices would differ a little due to the fact that the product is more expensive. This is not something I will be spending money on next year.
