Enfamil claims that: From the date of manufacture, the liquid is good for 12 months and the powder is good for 18 months.
Make an appointment with your child's doctor. Ours suggested it because our daughter is allergic to cow's milk.
I've always warmed up my baby's bottles by submerging them in a cup of hot water. This was only done when I took the open container from the fridge. I never heated the formula if it was at room temperature, and my daughter drank it fine.

ehhh. First and foremost, let me state unequivocally that I do not despise this formula! We couldn't have survived without this formula. The gentle formulas and soy formulas didn't agree with our son's little tummy, and neither did my breastmilk. The doctor recommended starting with a probiotic and then moving on to this or alimuntem if that didn't work. So we went off on our own and after comparing the two, we decided to try Nutramigen. It works like a charm! There will be no more screaming, emptying bottles of gas medicine, or crying fits. Our baby was only one at the time, and she was a very happy one. We've been grateful since he was 5 months old (he's now 5 months).
Now. This is my first time buying ready to feed formula, and I did so solely because it was such a great deal at $23 for the 6 pack, which equals 48 4oz bottles versus the can we usually buy for $51 which equals 49 4oz bottles. Anyway, I was expecting to be spoiled by this ready-to-use recipe. I was SO WRONG! It must be refrigerated once opened, and warming up a cold bottle is a tedious and time-consuming process, especially late at night. We went out and bought another can for his late-night feedings because he liked it so much. (Because I use a Baby Brezza water warmer, I don't have to worry about warming the water; all I have to do is add the formula and keep it moving. ) Also, I realized that if we want to go out, we'll need powder formula because once you open the bottle, you have to refrigerate it, which is a waste unless you plan to keep it on ice. br>The fact that you have 48 hours to use it doesn't matter to me because he's drinking 5-gallon buckets of water. We can definitely use the entire bottle in that window if we drink 6oz at a time.
My baby has severe reflux and was put on nutramigen, which didn't help with spitup at all, which I expected given how thin it is. It has an odd odor, but my baby didn't seem to mind the taste.
However, it has the aroma of microwaveable mashed potatoes. It's a simple exchange for him, given his milk allergy and hours of screaming. It has made a significant difference in his life. I've noticed people remarking on how bad their poop smells, but we don't really notice. He had previously been breastfed, and it has the same sweet scent as breast milk. It's a lot easier for him to pass gas and poop now. He's much happier now that the mucus and bleeding are gone. I'm putting on weight nicely. We're grateful to our pediatrician for introducing us to it, and we'll keep using it as long as he needs it.
The only issue is that the title implies otherwise.
Be careful who you buy from. There are only four boxes instead of the eight shown in the picture. My boxes also have a two-month expiration date.
My 3 month old was put on this due to allergies and GERD, so I was overjoyed when I saw they were back in stock. I couldn't find these in the store and had to order them online. The formula itself has been great for my son; we use 2 oz. Nutramigen powder and 1 oz. Nutramigen liquid (which works great for thickening it as well). Anyway, I thought I'd pick these up for night feedings and on the go. I only got a 6 count, which was disappointing! That's completely insane! I mean, this formula is great and expensive, but a 6 count is not! That's ridiculously overpriced! I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the situation. I know how expensive Nutramigen is because my son can't use anything else, but this is out of the question. br>**As an aside, I did contact Amazon customer service, and they were extremely helpful. They said it was a website error and that they would fix it and refund my money. br>Thank goodness for Amazon!.
After three days of feeding this pre-made formula to my baby, she developed terrible diarrhea, which was quickly resolved after switching to Enfamil's original formula. Amazon does, in fact, sell items that aren't the genuine article, as I recently discovered. I was skeptical, so I gave him more of the Amazon pre-made formula, and he became sick with diarrhea once more. Enfamil is the only place I'll buy right now.
