You're not going to be able to do it. The DTA- Cable television does not work with 800B1. It can only receive and decode over-the-air signals. the- Not cable channels (which use the "QAM" format), but digital broadcast television channels (ATSC).
No, not if you're looking for a way to decode cable channels. To receive cable channels on your analog TV, you'll need a dedicated cable descrambler box! All the RCA box does is allow you to receive free on-air channels that are now broadcast in digital format rather than analog.
If you happen to come across a used older version of this box (DTA-), it's a good idea to take a look at it. DTA-800 or 800 800B, or even earlier versions of the 800B- 1) It's nearly impossible to find the option to add and delete channels. This error appears to have been "fixed" in later versions of the unit.
It does not matter which antenna you use. This is a frequently asked question. An antenna doesn't care if the signal is digital or analog; the frequency of UHF/VHF broadcast remains the same. Some of the new antennas are a little better at picking up the signal, but the old "Rabbit Ear" antenna will still work.

I decided to purchase this item after reading some positive reviews. I make it a point to buy new items every time I go shopping. I'd intended to order new this time, but ended up buying used instead. My device came without a remote control or a user manual, and - The product was wrapped in bubble packaging with no product box and had a few nicks in it. When I went back online to file a complaint, I found description confirmation of the missing items; So, I can't complain because I'm the one who got this waste of money; I can't get it to work with my TV, and I'm so irritated that the thought of returning it irritates me. I'm thinking of going all Carrie at the prom if I buy the remote separately and it still doesn't work. Please be cautious when making purchases. So, how many stars am I going to award this purchase? It's exactly as described in terms of physical appearance, and it works. Because I can't tell if it does what it's supposed to do, I'll give it two stars. br>br>Updated on September 7, 2017: br>So, after taking a chance on ordering the remote control that was supposed to come with this device - If it were brand new, it would be- The remote was delivered in the same manner (in an envelope, with no box or instructions). Fortunately, the remote is functional, indicating that the converter is as well. There are no instructions to follow, and nothing needs to be synched. My television and my box are in sync. It was simple to scan the channels. Before choosing a channel, I like how the names of TV shows are listed alongside each channel. I'm content with myself. My previous two-star remoteless rating has been replaced with a five-star rating.
When t. When I switched to HD, I wanted to keep using my 20-inch television. It is equipped with a VHS recorder. This converter box worked perfectly with my rabbit ears antenna. Of course, I live in a big city with lots of channels to choose from. After all this time, the closed captions appeared on it and I couldn't turn them off, so I used an extra converter we had on hand, which I don't like nearly as much as the original. The one I had, which looks similar to this one and has the same model number, changed channels quickly, never overheated, and the screen displayed what was playing on each channel as I changed channels. That was a really cool feature. I'm hoping someone can tell me if this box has that capability. LATER: I've received a lot of responses, and I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who has responded. I was able to get the box to work - incredibly simple - It was a miracle that I managed to do it myself - It's also very effective. This is super simple to do for those of you who are mechanically challenged. To program the remote so that I could control the volume and turn the television on, I had to read the instructions. I had to detach myself from the box remote control, but I managed to do it. I actually reprogrammed the remote for another RCA box that we have on another television. set. I'm extremely pleased with myself. LATER: This box has a flaw that I've discovered. I can increase the volume with the box remote, but if I try to decrease it with that remote, it changes the T. switch to channel 2 After that, I must obtain the T. To return to channel 3, which is my receiving channel, use the remote. I'm not sure why, but it does the same thing with the other two remotes I have for these RCA converter boxes.
I bought it in September of last year and used it to test signal availability with my inside antenna one day. I put my antenna back into the box after installing an exterior antenna because it was giving me a poor signal. I connected it to my new antenna over the weekend, and it worked flawlessly. for the duration of the day br>There was no audio this morning. I tried the mute button, volume control, turning the unit off and on, as well as unplugging and reconnecting all connections. No luck. br>Other converter boxes of the same make and model work fine, so this one must be a dud.
It works fine, but there is no HDMI port for connecting to an HDTV. I had one for four years before it stopped working without causing any other problems, and the remote was nearing the end of its useful life due to numerous drops. I was using glue to stick things together. You can set different power saving modes that will turn this off after a period of no channel or volume changes, so if you leave it on for 2 hours, it will have warmed up a little and you might think it got too hot and shut off. Change the power saving function in the menu. The remote control has a smart feature that recognizes your TV model and adjusts the power and volume accordingly. My brand-new HDTV is up and running. It appears to have a strong ability to recognize all of the analog signals that are available from my antenna. I've placed an order for a HomeWorx HW180STB so that I can use the HDMI connection.
