I wanted to use my Sony X700 to play 4K movies through my 4K projector, but there is no audio output via RCA plugs on the Sony X700; instead, there is only a sound-only HDMI port. This is fine for connecting it to my home stereo, but I wanted to be able to set everything up in the backyard with a portable sound system, so I needed a way to convert the data sent over HDMI to RCA cables. The eSynic 4K HDMI Audio Extractor did a fantastic job. I already had my HDMI and RCA cables, so all I had to do was plug everything into the eSynic in the order that other reviewers recommended. The eSynic and the setup were both flawless.
This product is absolutely perfect. AAAAA br>br>I'm running a YAMAHA 5. Two large floor speakers, a center speaker, and two surround speakers are included in one surround receiver. I recently acquired two older Klipsch Cornwall 3 loud speakers (which are massive), so I decided to use an older heavy duty Prologic receiver to power the Cornwalls. My problem was that I couldn't connect the two because my 5. 1 has no standard preouts and only one subwoofer preout, which is ineffective because I require full range. br>br>At first, I used a "line out converter" from a car audio device, connecting the input wires directly to the main outputs of 5. 1, which drops the voltage and has L/R preouts, worked reasonably well, but one channel was noticeably louder than the other, requiring me to balance the LOC by ear. br>br>Are you still perplexed or lost? I'll go on. Everything worked fine, but when I installed a bunch of LED lighting around my entertainment center, I got a terrible high pitch frequency back feed noise coming from the cornwalls (due to the LOC picking up some sort of signal noise from the LED strips)br>br>AWESOMEbr>br>so I thought. What am I supposed to do at this point? On the back of the 5, this is the only output I can see. The first is an HDMI output, which sends video to the TV. Even though I'm not watching TV with sound, I'm sure there's an audio signal in there. br>br>Then I found this device, plugged it all in, set the switch to 2 channel, and now the cornwalls sound rich and full of sound, wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than before, with ZERO signal noise. br>br>Buy this thing. I don't have to do anything unusual, such as unplug the device each time I use it, or turn everything on in a specific order, as stated in previous feedback comments. br>br>It works like a charm.
I now understand what other reviews mean when they say "doesn't need a sink. " If you don't connect it to a video device, you won't be able to hear anything. I have no way of knowing if that is my Dell computer or the device. Aside from that, it's running smoothly. I gambled on a device with few reviews, assuming it would be the most up-to-date and include all of the desirable features. So, I guess I can't complain because it works.
It has sped up setup by allowing me to take the audio from HDMI before running it to the projector, rather than having to run extra cables. It's also great that it can be powered by USB rather than transformers, which eliminates the need for transformers.
To use with my projector, I ordered the 1080p model. Because the image had severely distorted colors, I didn't even test the audio. I tried a variety of HDMI cables and input sources to make sure there was nothing else wrong. I figured it was a one-time thing, so I ordered another, this time in 4K. The problem is the same! It almost appears to be a component video connection that is missing a green cable, resulting in an incomplete color spectrum.
This product was used to send sound to my existing surround sound system, which did not have HDMI support. This little guy takes the HDMI output from my Roku and outputs HDMI to the TV as well as RGA to the surround sound.
So far, this method has worked to connect my FireStick to my Epson projector and surround sound system. The picture and sound are excellent, and I no longer have to use the projector's small, ineffective speakers. It's a lot easier and a lot less expensive than buying a receiver.
Make sure the USB is connected to something to get power; otherwise, everything works fine right out of the box with no noticeable difference in image quality. This item met my requirements for audio out to a stereo receiver at a reasonable price.
