Yes, this is compatible with older analog "tube" televisions. I still have three or four of them because I'm a cheapskate, and this is perfect for them. I hope this information is useful!
In a way. You must first set up a USB flash drive, after which you must begin recording the show, pausing it as it is being recorded.
Three of them were bought. After about two months, two of them's power cords stopped working. Since then, there have been no more issues.
No, sir!

To connect an antenna to my 60" Vizio Smartcast, I need a converter box. Because I no longer have cable, I decided to take a chance and order this one. It was incredibly simple to set up and it functions flawlessly. The interface is very user-friendly.
I bought the box because our cable bill was rising and we wanted to cut the cord, and based on the reviews I read, I had high expectations for it. It was simple to set up, and my small HD internal antenna picked up 42 local channels. The interface is clumsy, and the remote appears flimsy. The instruction booklet was helpful in terms of explanations, but it was a tiny manual (in terms of size), and the print was so small that I had to use a magnifying glass to read it. The manual's screen images were indistinguishable. The software interface was similar to old VCR setups, with the addition of the ability to view a day's worth of programming so you could see what was going to be on. To find out what's on that day, you must go to each channel. I figured I could live with the interface for the price. One thing to keep in mind is that it defaults to military time, and there is no way to change it, so if you're not used to it, you'll have to figure it out on your own. I didn't have any issues with it as far as tuning was concerned. The main point was that I wanted to be able to record programs; otherwise, I would have just used my TV's tuner. An external hard drive can be plugged into the USB 2 port on the front of the box. They recommend using an external drive rather than a USB flash drive, and that the drive has its own external power source because the unit will not work with a USB powered drive (it will attempt to reboot if connected). I set up the channel and timer for a two-hour movie for my first recording. When I went back to review the recording, I discovered that it had actually begun recording an hour earlier than it had indicated, and that it had been recorded for three hours. It records in MTS format, which was fine, and you can listen to it on the built-in player. br>br>I began recording and attempted to fast forward to the beginning of the film. It will enable you to fast forward up to 32 times. Unfortunately, fast forwarding causes it to lock up, and you must stop it and restart from the beginning. To get to the movie, I had to repeat the process four times at different speeds. For about ten minutes, everything was fine, but then the picture became blocky. After that, it's completely inaccessible. I tried a few recordings and came up with the same results, so I switched drives. I got the same results with a 500 GB and a 1 TB drive. I really wanted this to work, but the recording and playback features were not up to par. I got a refund when I returned it.
It works well and is simple to set up. Small and light may appear to be of lower quality, but bigger and heavier does not always imply higher quality. I shopped on the low end of the price spectrum, so I can't compare it to a more expensive unit with additional features. I only use it to watch basic television, which I convert to digital using an indoor antenna. br>br>Update No. 1 18 : It was working fine until someone inquired about the CC mode, which I tried and then turned off, but the CC kept coming back on. When I restarted the unit, the CC was no longer present, but it reappeared. Unplugging and recharging I plugged it in and it's now dead, so I'm returning it for a refund. I'm trying a different brand because it appears that all of these different brands are hit or miss in terms of quality, based on the reviews I've read here.
through; The sound starts to crackle. This converter box replaced a (much more expensive) converter box that I had purchased previously. This Koramzi has both of the features I was looking for: A more sensitive tuner, as well as a 1080i video throughput of 5. Surround sound in one channel. The high- The picture in high definition is fantastic; The tuner is almost as sensitive as the LG tuner in an old Zenith digital-television receiver. Box with analogue converter. So far, the only issue has been that the box fails to pass through 5. In some situations, such as when I use it to stream a movie in stereo from a thumb drive and then switch to broadcast TV, it defaults to stereo. It is resolved by rebooting the converter box. br>NOTE: THIS PAGE HAS BEEN UPDATED. After a few weeks of using the converter box, I encountered another audio problem. When changing channels, the audio will randomly break up with a warbling sound, as if it were cutting out several times per second. This issue is also resolved by restarting the computer. I tried contacting Koramzi several times, partly because the instructions suggest that the firmware can be updated. They have not responded to my request.
I was blown away by this converter box! I finished the set-up by connecting it to my outdoor antenna. I got up and did a channel scan, and there were 17 channels! I used to get four channels just by using the antenna. It's been raining for two days, but I haven't lost any signal because of the converter box. I had to contact customer service because I had selected an option and couldn't get the menu to come back on. I was able to get it back up and running with the assistance of customer service. I hope that this information is useful to anyone interested in using this box. I have access to the majority of my local channels, and it's all free!.
This went above and beyond my expectations. I had to cancel cable because the costs had gotten out of hand. I couldn't get any channels on my TV, so I bought this item on the spur of the moment. It was simple to set up, and the image quality is excellent. I adore it so much that I bought one for my sister as a Christmas present. Plus, it is reasonably priced.
