Ring Video Doorbell 3 Plus – enhanced wifi, improved motion detection, 4-second video previews, easy installation

the first Ring product I bought. I thought I would upgrade from other cameras I have around my It's unclear to me how this will work. It is my experience setting up security systems and wi-fi enabled devices that enables me to do this. When the motion sensitivity was set to medium, I had it set just for my porch and it went off all night. Today I adjusted the camera to angle down more and bumped the sensitivity up to Max since it only faces the immediate area outside my door, which is easily 20ft from me with no trees or bushes in the immediate area. In light of my thinking that I solved the problem, I am currently upstairs working when my dog starts to bark. When I look out, the mailman is going back to his truck to pick up my second shipment of Amazon items. Then he comes back to my front door and stands directly in front of the In under a minute, I was able to locate it with my Wyze cam, which costs $29 to buy. From the garage angle, I was able to capture it with my generic Chinese $69 camera. I've installed a Ring cam directly in front of a mailman at my door twice, and both times it's Notification of any kind was not received. The settings are correct, but if it happens again, it will be back to the way it was. The following change has been made Towards the end of the night. There is no obvious reason why all motion areas and sensitivity settings have been restored to their original settings. Having changed my password just in case, I thought it might be I double checked my settings this morning, and now I am sitting having breakfast and my phone buzzes from my other brand camera. I look out my window and see the mail truck leaving my house once again, and sure enough, there is a package on the ground next to the Neither Ring nor any other cellular device notified me. I can therefore say that my $29 camera is 100% more reliable than a $229 Ring camera at this point. As I wrote this, I was looking at Live View and it was saying 'trying to reconnect'. A 15-time press yields a success. There is nothing. Today I'll try to get in touch with them. A bug fix will be released in the very near future for Ring Doorbell 3 Plus, otherwise it will be replaced with another brand. *UPDATE After a quick call with support, they tell me it's a wifi issue. "I should buy a Chime Pro" or contact my ISP. Well, I guess. Besides this Ring Doorbell, I have 3 other cameras that are far away from my router. Although this one is closest to it. It is very easy to access the internet in my house. In reading other reviews that have claimed that purchasing the Chime Pro to correct wireless issues hasn't worked, I think I've made up my mind. We are so disappointed.

The Doorbell II version has been upgraded. During the This feature worked great and was very easy to use. The 3 Plus kept dropping WiFi by itself randomly. (I tried both hardwired and mesh WiFi routers within 5ft of the doorbell. It supports both 4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies). This results in live view not working very often. A motion detection or doorbell triggered my camera so I could see it only when something was moving.
This never happened to me with my Doorbell 2. Apparently, the doorbell was just going into sleep mode and disconnecting from the While "Live View" is on, the computer should never lose contact with the internet. The 3 Plus would be great if they fixed the issue, but until then, I have to part with it. The item has to be returned to the store.

(6 months was likely to be the death of the battery The week is seven days long. In the following paragraphs, I will describe it more fully. Ring customer support was great and they are shipping me a replacement device via I will update my review as soon as I have tested it. As soon as the replacement ring arrived, they updated the firmware, and magically my doorbell started to charge, and it finally reached 100%, as it should), ***Review Update 4/25. The battery has drained to 95% a few times throughout the last month, but it is very clear that this was a firmware issue that has since been fixed. It should be fine for future orders - no issues. Also, the quality of the picture is I was really impressed with how easy it was to install. - works perfectly, it detects all relevant motion and it has good features to reduce false positives and not human movements. Connections - liked how it worked with my smart home With my Schlage lock) AND the Amazon Integration is excellent with my Echo Show — if the doorbell is pushed, an alert goes to my kitchen device and my live video appears on the screen. One integration that is bad is with my Samsung Fridge - it does not show up - but in truth, it is the fault of Samsung - they have gone away from their original vision, and their marketing does not accurately reflect what their products It is a colossal mistake to make software decisions for end users I think he's a lawyer - probably customer-centric. The only reason I gave it a 3 star rating was because they sent me a defective item. This is a serious drain on the battery. A Ring It's supposed to last *6 months before the battery needs recharging, but I connected mine to a strong power source and so it should (not drain) but rather trickle charge as it sits, and act as a backup as well. I was expecting that my battery would not have gone down by so much. In other words, it only lasted for a week. The absurdity of that is obvious. In particular, there should never be a problem since I connected it to a primary power supply. As a result, after speaking with Ring Support - who were great - I learned that the doorbell was continuously restarting My Amazon order was being replaced, so I told them to send it back. My rating will remain 3 stars until I receive the replacement and can test it. I'm sorry to say that this disappointment was very disappointing. As far as I can tell, if mine is any indication, they launched this product with bugs. Maybe it is hardware, or maybe it is I'm waiting for my new device to arrive and noticed Ring pushed a firmware update last night. I've noticed a considerable decrease in my battery drain. It appears they are making progress on the issue, so that's good.

Installing the Ring Doorbell 3 Plus was very simple - I installed it a few minutes after receiving it It was only after I discovered I needed a drilling template that I decided to order one. There's no magnetic pulley in the box, which is strange. A 3x5 inch index card and a 1/8" drill bit were all I needed to make a template from the mounting holes of the doorbell. After that, I used a Sharpie to trace the relative locations of the holes onto my brick wall. As a result of the mounting holes in the doorbell not being able to accommodate a pen, pencil, or marker, I had to use an index card. It was very easy to set up software. My wireless was not working, so I had to repeat it To make sure it worked, I redid the Wi-Fi setup a couple of times, but on the subsequent attempts, I did not change anything. This device has been a great device so far.
