Questions & Answers

What happens at night when this pet transport company picks up my dog?

During the dogs' absence, the alarm is set to Home so it does not use the motion sensors. It only uses door and window sensors when the dogs are home. In our experience, that is the best way to work around.

Would it be a problem if you had a cat at home?

It is possible to change the sensitivity based on what setup you have. For the motion sensor I lowered the sensitivity because the cat moved around a lot. I did not want her to accidentally trigger it

Batteries are required for what items, while a 120v plug is required for others?

You can use either a battery or a plug for the keypad. The battery I use (fully) is no problem for me. A cable can be plugged into the charging port after it is slid off its mounting bracket. Powered by a battery backup, the main base can be plugged in.

Does the alarm have the capability to be scheduled to start and end at specific times in auto mode?

In short, yes. It's in the schedule modes section of the settings page

It is not necessary to install a glass break sensor! I have been installing the Ring 2nd Gen security system at home for the first time My first experience with security systems is not the first time I've had to deal with them
5/5

If you're fairly tech savvy, this will not be too difficult for you to set I did not need any prior experience to set up or install the security system, as the materials were sufficient to provide I with a thorough overview of the process. Ring is my new security solution because ADT's monthly fees are excessive. I was very excited to find that the magnet side of the window and doors sensors (the smaller side of the sensor) worked perfectly The result of this was that I only had to replace part of my ADT system, which made it easier and quicker to install. There is no need to spend a lot of time learning the software. Despite having no instructions, I was able to figure it out on my own. It's possible that some people will complain that Ring doesn't have glass break sensors, but coming from ADT myself, I'll tell you that this is a blessing in disguise. You will get the most false alarms if you have kids, especially if your home has glass break sensors. The number of times I've had my alarm go off late at night because a child banged something around or screamed at the right volume, or tossed something into the sink is appalling. The need for glass break sensors may become apparent in some situations, like in a larger building where you might not be able to hear that a window has broken. You can put a window/door sensor on the glass itself, as long as it is positioned in a way that does not interfere with the operation of the window if you want a glass break sensor. Put the sensor at the bottom of the frame of the window and the contact magnet on the glass directly above it. When someone breaks the glass and climbs through the window, it will go off if they get through the window. Though this may not be feasible for every scenario and every window, it is a possibility that could be taken into account. There is also Alexa Guard, and this is a bit of a backup option, since it is not a true glass break sensor. It is important to note that I am a little frustrated with the package options and delivery services at Amazon. It turns out I did not need the 14 piece kit even though I purchased it. There was no need for a motion sensor or range extender, and I did not need a second keypad. One base station, one keypad, one motion sensor, one fire alarm listener, and eight contact sensors were all I needed. I had to order the 14-piece kit after the cost of purchasing that stuff separately exceeded the cost of getting it separately. It was then that I came to realize that there is nothing known as a 14 piece kit. Instead, Amazon sent me an 8 piece kit and then all the other pieces separately, as I planned Each kit shipped at a different time with the last pieces arriving five days after the initial one. Even though I would have preferred that they had arrived at the same time so I could have installed my system all at once, having it done this way allowed me to see how easy it was to add additional devices later on. The cellular backup comes through AT&T. If you live at an address with service, you should check it out.

Install and setup are simple Motion sensor was slightly less than perfect
4/5

Loved the concept, but it wasn't quite as easy to install and use as it could have been. Because of batteries and double-sided tape, the install took an hour for the whole thing instead of 10 minutes or so. Traditionally corded devices are good for a short period of time. It's also nice to be able to integrate with the Ring camera system. The ability to have it professionally monitored is also a must and I am glad to see that There was only one issue - the motion detector failed to detect movement in the first three minutes It is mounted in a high ceiling (10') at 4 feet high. It may be necessary to mount it Just put another motion sensor on the opposite corner of the room and the problem is fixed. It wouldn't have been a 5 star rating if it wasn't for this issue. Here are some tips on installing the software Make sure the surface is clean before attaching double-sided To make it stick better, use some alcohol and a cloth. Otherwise it will not work. You should not use chemicals like windex, which can cause residue or harden the adhesive. * 2) Check that the door opens and closes smoothly before selecting the contact sensor. You might get a sensor hit if you put the "arm" on the top of the door in the wrong place if you put it at the top. 3) Follow the instructions on the application. You can do them quickly and easily, saving you time and 4) Remove the battery protection tape, one device at a time. This seems to be the easiest method for identifying the right device from the wrong. You may also include numbers or bar codes.

I don't see why I wouldn't use a 2nd Gen
5/5

Having come from Simplisafe, I found the setup process to be simple. The savings have been significant as I now pay only $10 a month instead of $25. I'm excited to complete the set (Floodlights next). Easy to install, looks fresh, and looks great on the walls.

A single app containing everything you need in the palm of your hand, including a glowing LED ring
5/5

In using ring 2, I have taken full advantage of it. The security system has zero features. I now see an Ominous red glow on my home wiring box at night, or a cheerful blue glow as well. This meant that I had to get multiple wireless repeaters since mounting the base station this way required multiple wireless In addition to my base station on the second floor, all my sensors and tracking devices were on the first floor. This unit was still able to operate at its maximum range, and I was able to set it so that the base station chirped upstairs "audible to the occupants on the 2nd floor" and that the keypad chirped near the garage door on the All of these factors combine to make a very cool and very sophisticated My front door announces people's presence verbally through the big old echo show system (ring doorbell pro) and visitors can hear it through the door as if it was a PA system. The door lock and the ring doorbell work seamlessly together as one. The goal here is to achieve this. A unified home automation and integration using the fewest number of apps I think the ring app is a great tool for surveillance and operations at home. The following are tips to deal with interferences and weak sensor signals If you're doing it the same way I did and mounting the base station in the wiring closet, make sure to place the device up high and in the upper right or left corner of your wiring box so you can attach it with Velcro to the wall where it touches the top. You cannot tuck the ziggbee signal too deep in the wiring closet, so it becomes more difficult for it to reach the outside world. The base station and Phillips hue smart bridge are even next to each other. Rather than changing the channel on the hue bridge, I changed the zigbbee channel. As well as reducing interference, this helped. The battery backup of the base station should be taken advantage of. You will get push notifications when the power goes out and then comes back on when it is plugged in directly into the socket. The feature is really good. There were links between the smoke detectors and CO2 detectors in my house. A person who goes off affects the others as well. The result was that I only had to purchase one ring smoke detector Thanks for listening. My washer/dryer is protected from floods and freezes by a flood and freeze sensor. In the backyard one ring stickup camera is equipped with solar power. In the garage the stickup camera is equipped with solar power. It's a doorbell made by One Ring Pro. There are going to be a few more cameras added. The number of cameras has been increased to six. It is possible to adjust the camera order on your dashboard to make it more pleasing to your OCD. In the end, I went all the way with this setup, but it was fun to figure out how to make it work. This is the first time my house talks to me/chirps! This is my Wiring closet, which looks like a giant AI from HAL 9000! Those who are tech-savvy should use this solution to get exactly what they desire!.

It's very easy to use
5/5

The installation process is simple. The device seems to be sleek and responsive. I haven't encountered any complaints yet. The installation and configuration are super easy. I am so thrilled to no longer have to pay ADT rates and only pay a fraction of the cost for.

It is still possible to improve this great product
5/5

It is an excellent system, but I do have one criticism The contact sensors are too wide and I believe there could be some tweaking to be done with the software.
