Questions & Answers

Is it possible for an intruder to remove the battery?

I have a great question for you, thanks! In order to connect the outside of the Door View Cam to the inside (where the battery is housed) of it, you have to attach the viewer in the door to it. In order to remove it, you would have to disassemble the device from the inside of your home or break it. If a thief were to remove it, it is protected by Ring's Theft Protection policy. You can forward a copy of the police report to [email protected]. A new device will be provided free of charge by both Ring and Amazon.com. We are also available for any additional questions you may have by visiting Please send us a message [email protected] or send us an email. The company. All the best to you from Circle, Alexis

There is a glass storm door in my house. Is it possible that this will interfere with the Ring door view cam's motion detection?

*br> Depending on the type of door and the location of it, screen and storm doors, as well as screens, can affect the functionality of Door View Cam. In a glass door, you usually can see the camera's view, but you'll need to turn off the night vision LEDs in the device settings, otherwise the glass door will reflect the light back into the camera and obstruct it. It is possible for metal and mesh screens to block the camera's view and to reflect the night vision LEDs as well. In addition, most outer doors will prevent motion from being detected by Door View Cam until those doors are opened if Motion Detection is enabled. Selected User Reviews For Ring Peephole Cam with Ring Chime (1st Gen)

Then it might be a good option for folks who aren't after As an owner of a few Ring products, an IP security camera system, and a few Wyze cameras, let's start by saying that I have Ring products
5/5

A lot of my friends ask me about security products because I am an expert in the field. I am currently considering the Ring Door View Camera to recommend to them however, after seeing that the most helpful and liked reviews give this product 3 stars, I felt obligated to share my opinion. In spite of what I read about the Door View Cameras' limited downward field of view, I disagree with it. It's interesting to see all those reviewers, but I have to admit that ALL of them are extremely naive. As with the other Ring products in their name, the Door View Camera (and other Ring Video Doorbells) are exactly what they claim to be and do what they advertise they are capable of. Since Ring didn't name this product "Ring Package Monitoring Camera" after all. In a video doorbell, you can see who comes to your door and collaborate with them on how best to handle it We can communicate with them through a two-way device. In order to properly assess the Door View Camera, let's keep the following in mind This is 1. You may wish to install a video doorbell that allows a peephole view Then, check
2. Exactly what you need--a peephole that will let you see what is going on at the same time that it will let you use the peephole when you're away. Please check
3. If you are looking for a motion-detecting device that alerts you whenever your door is opened, here are some suggestions Please check *4. If you would like to know when your package arrives, you can purchase the device from Check box 5. You've been on the lookout for a device solely for watching your programs That's not happening! Point the camera at your doormat if you have a separate one. To provide some substance, I've also included a couple of pictures showing what Ring Video Doorbell 2 looks like. Ring has a wedge kit that points down and a corner kit pointing slightly to the right on its doorbell. Despite being able to see the package, the FedEx delivery person was walking away after delivering my package. She placed the package on my doormat out of turn, but you cannot see it. This RVD2 is mounted four feet off the ground and even with the additional wedge and bracket it still stays off the ground The corner kit on the right does not capture the ground in front of the door due to the angled camera on the left. You should be able to see your package if you get a camera pointed at it or at your entryway (as you can see in my second screenshot from my IP camera system), which shows the exact spot the FedEx delivery person placed your Please accept *br*br*> You are right You are right You are right You are right So, my goal in this review is to let you know not to give a product 3 (or 1) stars just because you were hoping to buy a package watching camera, which is not a fair assessment of the product. It's <<<<<<<.

With this innovative design, you can now design your own motion zones Here is a look at the last 15 months
4/5

Our front door has been equipped with this camera since its release in June 2019 and is located on a busy urban street. Although the Peephole Cam isn't perfect, it has worked reliably even in hot and cold weather, as well as in rain, snow, The features of this device have been changing since Ring released it, thus making it more useful today than when it was first In light of this, we have elevated our rating from 3 stars to 4. The motion zones can now be controlled in a new way With Ring's recently introduced motion zones, including those on the Peep Hole Cam, video monitoring is now controlled in a more individualized manner. A capability that its plug-in cameras have had for quite some time, and that is invaluable for preventing false alerts in areas where there is considerable This is a faster application
The Peephole Cam had a major streaming latency problem when it was first released. If motion was detected or when someone ringed or knocked, it took the camera ten seconds or more to stream the video to the user's Ring's "Rapid Ring" app eliminates the latency associated with video streaming. In addition to working well, it is designed as a companion to the in-depth course An app that's featured on Ring. The design of - It has a nice physical design of a Peep Hole Cam - Associated with a much smaller form factor than other Ring doorbells, the battery is located inside the door, near the room temperature and creates less of a risk of theft. life of an urban streetlight lasts for six to eight hours, even with a lot of walking This is 8 weeks of gestation. When the battery needs changing, it is easy to replace it. Overall, the device looks quite good both on the outside and on the inside. It has a modern look, and it preserves its aesthetic appeal at the same time. I have the door knock sensor set on its most sensitive setting, but it is still not very effective I have a solid wood exterior door, which is not very sensitive. we can tell when someone has knocked on our door by the sound the door makes. However, there are times when it doesn't. *No control over field of view to be had We mentioned in our original review that the camera's field of view does not encompass the lower area in front of the door, so we can't use it I have attached two photos to this message There is a photo of the front of our house, showing where our Peep Hole Cam is mounted on the On the other side of the photo you can see the Peep Hole Cam in action. This view of the entire area in front of the door, including the stairway leading up to our front door, which extends for approximately six feet, can be seen on the Peep Hole Cam, but it cannot be seen on the live video. This has no value as a security - It's a sky filled with stars. I find it interesting that Ring, an Amazon company with a strategic imperative to reduce package theft, has not taken steps to correct this problem. Please find our original review from June 2019 below A lot of us have been waiting for this camera to be released. The 21st of June was the day it arrived and was installed. The positives include It comes in a small, lightweight, low profile design, with the battery located inside the door where it is less susceptible to extreme temperatures, and it is not stolen. It also has a knock sensor and an integrated doorbell and high-sensitivity LED illumination. Taking a look at the resolution The Door View Cam in the Ring smart doorbell range has all of the features you'd expect from a high-end smart doorbell. The negatives are The camera does not show the area directly in front of the door where delivered packages might be left when installed in a peephole at normal viewing height. However, the camera lens appears to be suitable for a wide angle, but it was not correctly aimed. It is possible that the video recordings will show the sky or the ceiling of the hallway (minimal security value), but not the area immediately In order for this camera to monitor not only visitors but also delivered packages, it either needs a better angle, or it needs to be installed at an angle of 90° Aim for an angle of 3 feet above the floor or allow the user to adjust the camera angle. It is not uncommon to receive numerous false positives if the Door View Cam is installed on a front door facing a busy street, even with the motion sensitivity set to the lowest setting. It is impossible to set and adjust the motion zones effectively to prevent false positives, so turning off motion detection is the only way to eliminate false positives. With some of its other cameras, Ring allows users to customize their motion zones. How come the door view camera is not on the camera? He got in touch with me about it. It is their intention to transition from batteries to electric The Door View Cam, as well as the more sophisticated motion detection used on their plug-in cameras, offer different possibilities This is true for The release date of the firmware update has not been set yet. Based on the conversations I had with Ring Technical Support, it appears that reducing latency is the main objective. There are several negative aspects to the design, last but not least that the peephole is of poor quality. There is a lack of light transmission and distortions from the optics, which makes it difficult to see any detail clearly. This $200 state of the art camera is not even close to offering better optics than a $20 peephole viewer. Ring is the most functional home security system on the market. If you are in the market for one, give it a try- Overall, the situation is good The design is excellent, well-executed. It is reliable and performs well. There are very few cameras like this left in the world. We hope Ring will fix these issues as much as possible in a firmware update and release a version In the near future, there will be a version 0 of the camera.
